I think that bit alluded to the eventual breakdown of Dave and Ally's relationship. Pretty much like his song Molly where he reflects on how his music career affected his relationship with his ex. Originally I thought we would see this unfold in the season finale, but maybe this dynamic can marinate a little bit longer? Should be interesting nonetheless and I do see she has her own episode next.
