David should know better since he's in the industry that black artists aren't allowed to be lyrical, the moment they do they get labeled "conscious" and their album gets shelved. The mainstream music industry only wants to hear garbage rap from black artists, but will forever let a cac rapper be "lyrical" to try and prove that white people can rap too. I peeped game a long time ago when they started telling black artists how the euro sound was in, then you had rappers using that techno/pop shyt while white artists started coming in and using the rap/r&b sound. The end result is their albums going platinum and winning best rap/r&b, while albums like Yeezus are panned for being junk.
