Besides Future, Fetty Wap, Young Thug, and Chief Keef who else is mumbling?

Also even when rappers were being lyrical they were being lyrical about murdering each other and selling drugs. Just say you don't like the music

Lately? This clown has been on this hypocritical ass sh*t for like the past 7 or 8 years. Once his shine started to fade from the bullsh*t he was putting out he wanted to run back to trying to be conscious and be a voice of reason all of a sudden. GTFOH. It's amazing how few people in the industry I've actually seen call him out on this sh*t.

Exactly, if he was still hot musically he'd be making the same type of music he's complaining about it.

This dude made some of the most stereotypical and exploitative music imaginable in his prime, but now that his time in the spotlight is over he switched over to a new hustle.

Nah, what makes it 10x worse is this isn't some "new" lane for him. He actually started out when he was still in college making conscious/politically aware records. Crooked Lettaz was like an unpolished underground version of Goodie Mob in a lot of ways. When he saw that he couldn't make any bread doing progressive music with a message in the South like the Dungeon Family was, he switched and started c00nin it up and selling out. Then he tried to go back to his roots when the shine faded. He doesn't have a leg to stand on from either side of the fence. He's a dikk riding trend hopper.

I remember him clowning critics of the type of bullsh*t he was making when he was on top of the game just saying sh*t like, "yall don't understand the south", "they hatin" and yadda yadda. Would be damn funny if some of his older sound bites and interviews were ever to resurface.

How in the hell did you quote my post and still somehow completely miss the point my post was making?

If Malcolm X went from being a pre-eminent spokesperson for African-American and human rights struggles, to then getting paid to help facilitate the very practices and idealogies he spent the bulk of his adult life condemning, and then decided he would go back to the role of being a spiritual leader and activist after other figures followed that same trend, your analogy would make sense.

Enlightenment and consciousness is a one-way street. You don't get to hit the rewind button after coming into maturity, and if you do, you damn sure dont get to hit the reverse button a second time.

Utter 'scust at you comparing Malcolm X to this backwards ass clown. David Banner KNEW BETTER before he cashed in on the worst black culture had to offer. That's the whole point of calling him out on his bullshyt.

:mindblown:

You can't seriously be this dense. This isn't some n*gga that was promoting backwards sh*t, saw "Roots" or read "Message To The Black Man In America" and then decided he would change his ways and actions for the betterment of his people.

This was a community organizer and youth mentor who was making music with a message and uplifting tone, who made a conscious decision as college educated grown ass man (a few credits away from having a Master's Degree mind you) to abandon the very essence of everything he stood for up until that point and cash in on musical black buffoonery, who wants to try and belittle cats in the game now who are doing the same exact sh*t he was doing 10 years ago.

How is DUMBING DOWN your image and message a sign of growth?? Have you ever listened to Banner's early work? He wasn't beating you over the head every 5 minutes with consciousness and preaching, but it was a far cry from the sh*t he decided to put out as a solo artist, and he was definitely dropping jewels in his rhymes

Since you actually had the audacity to compare this fool to Malcolm X, I'll let him summarize Banner for you:

"If you stick a knife nine inches into my back and pull it out three inches, that is not progress."
