Because he showed complete ineptitude at actually coaching; it's less about winning, and more about the direction, progress, and development, which was non-existent. Yes, he wasn't put in a position to succeed given the makeup of the squad, but his rotations, out-dated schemes, running the offense through Julius even after the wheels fell off, player-development, post-game comments, and the one and probably only area he has strength in [motivation], failed him.

Anybody defending Fiz clearly wasn’t watching Knicks games. They were regressing and weren’t showing any signs of improvement. The last week was an absolute disgrace. It wasn’t just the blowout losses, it was how inept and unprepared they looked while it happened.

Taking that job would be stupid for MJ. I agree he doesn’t have a lot of suitors, but taking that Knicks job right now would basically be his last coaching gig forever.
