the election results bore this out too. hogg's multi-million dollar, bloomberg-funded PAC to support prohibitionist candidates took a bunch of Ls, the only one who won while scooping the gen z (18-28) vote was sarah mcbride in delaware. it shows how desperate this issue's become for the dnc when they have harris doing national interviews about her glock, or send walz to do photo ops where he's "hunting" despite not knowing how to load a shotgun.
the gun debate's over, the jim crow law fangays have lost (more on that later tho). record numbers of firearms were sold every year from 2020-2024, and fbi background check data shows the most diverse range of gun ownership ever. women, ados, immigrants, zoomers, lgbt, asians, the elderly, first-time buyers, jews, every demographic that leaned blue and previously stated reluctance about ownership has been tooling up. every single one of those new owners now has a stake against any law that looks like theft and one more reason to not vote democrat as long as the dnc keeps prohibition as a plank of their platform.

new york democrats enshrined laws enabling door-to-door confiscation and forced state troopers to do so against their will, look what it got them. hochul's push to steal even more of our guns set off the pathway to the republicans retaking a majority in 2022, which they used to push the hunter biden corruption allegations, which neutralized the lawfare narrative against trump - which was ironically coming out of ny itself from tish james and alvin bragg. hochul had a large part to play in harris losing the general election, but the dnc didn't learn anything.

the law that they enacted to do this was overturned because it violated the 2nd, 4th, and 14th amendments. naturally, the state was back in court within days arguing that the 14th amendment should be weakened, outlawing slavery be damned. stats from california and florida have shown that 99%+ of requests to seize guns under their analogous laws are filed by the police, and the targets are almost always non-white - in california, there wasn't ONE request that was filed by a black person, every single one was from law enforcement: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0091743522002304
