RBs are sometimes required to pass protect. What good are you as a receiver if your QB gets killed. Im sure you are aware teams blitz and send more rushers than the OL can block.

I think you're putting way too much emphasis on DJ as a receiver.

And yes Zeke has a better line. But he Still has more yards after contact
I played RB and WR at OU. I certainly don't need what is required spelled out to me as I played it at a pretty decent level where this laymens talk tutelage is required.

Bottom line, DJ is a part of the passing game and isn't being wasted away as a pass blocker because of his versatility. So I don't get the better pass blocker point when he's asked to do so much less.

Are you serious :mindblown:

I dont care where you played homie, I am talking common sense.

“B.A. (coach Bruce Arians) certainly gives him a hard time now,” Keim emphasized. “He coaches him up, which he should, because there still are areas of David’s game where he can improve. But the things he does for this offense really, really does put defenses in a bind because of the pressure he puts on them from a pass-catching standpoint as well.”

The area that Keim is talking about Johnson needing to improve is his pass protection. Johnson told the ESPN post-game crew in an interview just how far behind he is in pass protection.

“Sometimes Carson (Palmer) has to tell me who I am responsible for blocking in the huddle,” Johnson said.

That is an issue with an offense that likes to take big shots downfield. Those plays do not work if the running backs are unable help give quarterback Carson Palmer the time he needs.

Straight from the General manager. Now go find a part of Elliotts game that Cowboys coaches are calling him out on :camby:

And who is avoiding common RB sense?

David isn't asked to pass protect as much....DUH!! he's not as versed at it as Zeke who is asked to do so regularly.

I don't get the point. I don't need lessons on what a RB is supposed to do. I have a bad back from a pass protecting play at practice. You're not teaching.

Being able to split DJ and Bell out wide puts them in a different category imo
This is just my opinion, but when cats start bringing up lining David or Bell up at WR, you're leaving the best running back conversation and entering the all around football player conversation. It's like me giving Ty Montgomery points over another WR because he lines up as a RB too. Zeke can catch the ball out of the backfield as well as either of those 2, he just doesn't line up exclusively as a WR.

@NYC Rebel what's your opinion on that, is this fair?

I don't know.
Did you trash Cam Newton, Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb because they were all-around great athletes that could hurt teams multiple ways?
