If John John gets this Verb for an extended time, he gon have a big problem. Verb can do a good job breaking son down as well. Many angles to play with vs dude.

I dunno about that classic talk them rapgrid mofos were saying. This battle cool though.

2nd watch and I have to give it to Day clearly although I was still entertained by Verb for the most part which is all I asked for. I kinda feel like Day was giving us a little Verb impersonation with the amount of rhyming and way of rapping.

Got me anticipating Verb vs JJDD out of sheer curiosity. I want that rhyming forever shyt lol.

Verb took Day's shyt that first round but did it a LOT less impressively, that's really the main thing I took from this battle.

This is the thing. The bars are cheesy, the style is cheesy. You know why Daylyt pulls it off? Because he often delivers the bars in a whimsical fashion. So people see Daylyt as a playful guy who is comedic and clever, as opposed to a corny dude who tries too hard. Verb is spitting those bars with conviction, it doesn't come off the same. Plus Daylyt usually doesn't do those type of bars back to back.
If you ask me there were points in this battle where Daylyt gave me a classic Verb feel.

What are you talking about though? Aye Verb took that style from a SPECIFIC round (first vs Clips, I believe) where Daylyt DID to those bars back-to-back-to-back-to-back. It didn't come off as well because Verb didn't do it as well, simple as that.

Yup, I peeped that too. Is it wrong to say that Daylyt's Verb impersonation is better than 2014 Verb?
To be fair, it's tough to prepare for Daylyt. If you're in Verb's position you don't want to give him your best cause he might mess the whole battle up with an antic.

I didn't like the Day/Clips battle that much, so I didn't remember. In any case Daylyt was doing that style before the Clips battle. It's all about the delivery. I explained WHY Verb didn't do it as well, you can re-read my reply if you like.

I think you have to give your best anyway. Say he did an antic. You're getting views off of his fukkery and people can go ohh old boy was killing it. If Day were to do an antic and you prepare and go in, it makes him look silly. The only difference would be like his High Stakes performance. B Magic prepared as usual and people give him the win. You could say Magics performance got overshadowed but you have to also factor in that Magic likes to serve the same dish round after round so it could get boring to some.

@wizworld I see what you saying about the delivery too. Daylyt is a mix of being street/ in ya face and goofy/lighthearted. Aye Verb's style is like never lighthearted which makes it strange. Not saying he doesn't have humor at times but you know what I mean. He also just plain ain't do it as well lol.

I agree. My point was more so that Verb is in a precarious position because he has Daylyt, then John John (SM4), then Bigg K & then Danny Myers all within like 2-3 months. Hate to say it, but the wise choice would to be go the lightest on Day, especially if you know you're giving John John your best.

I think Verb will take the "Grown Man" approach he did with Ars and Hitman. If so, JJ might be eating a consolation dinner at Sizzler or some shyt, hoping nobody from the event in there that recognizes him.
