I actually liked Mustard and Ty's version. It wasnt nothin like tha original but it was cool.

Mila coulda without those Toni Braxton soundin adlibs but its history now.

And in Mustard's defense, according to this interview with Daz and all of the other interviews I've seen Mustard in he always gives credit.

Right when "My Krazy Life" had came out he dropped the breakdown on how "My nikka" came about and who had did what and what he did in particular.

My take is that he's like me and comes from the school of Dr. Dre. He's a visionary and he understands branding. And he DJ's too (though they're both way better than me admittedly).

I don't wanna give away the secret but if he is what i think he is then he gets it. And if that's the case then people might wanna slow down on that Mustard hate before it begins. Youngin wont have no problem being here for "10 Summers". nikka might even fukk around and be here for 25

the only thing he copied was the bassline and it sounds like he replayed it too, I dont see the problem

other than it being wack as fukk

still gotta pay something for interpolation/replaying etc but usually not as much as a straight up sample. i imagine Daz would have been happy with a decent little pay up front and a bit of publishing

Mustard is a Producer even though he a DJ first. That's why most of the shyt he attaches his name to is either a Hit Record or sounds good. He understands the mechanics on what works and what don't

That's the best way I can put it.

:damn: what the fukk kinda contract you sign soopafly?

Probably tha same one Daz signed when He himself first signed on Death Row.

Snoop said that Soopafly wasnt even gonna get credit for that track at first, Snoop was gonna get it. But Snoop said he wasnt okay with that idea and Priest got his Due.

That's why no one can really talk shyt about Mustard. The Industry been on that type of shyt from the jump. All across the board.

Even Southside from 808 Mafia was speakin about that shyt not too long ago

You're right. Daz was (and i could be wrong) the first Major Label Artist to go Independent and have success and still remain relevant.

He showed nikkaz that their was life after major labels. Off the top of my head, as far as I know, Nobody had done that before

Daz probably still gettin checks off of "Urban Legend", let alone the Death Row shyt

Before him you were either Major or Independent. Wasn't no in between
I think he said he used to own or run his own distribution companies and he would teach others how to do the same. Anyone know anything about that?

He was on point with GTA when they tried to use his track without consent and he was the first one to step up and say something about the way the business was being handled with Wide Awake after they got the Death Row catalog.

He low key exposed Slaughter House because he spoke on a deal he was offered where they would only ship x amount of units. It turns out SH had took a deal with the same label for the same amount of units for their first album. They under shipped their project but Daz knew better and he turned the deal down. I think it was eleven thousand units.

I can't say off top about SH but it sounds familiar. I know Daz said JT from The Bay gave him alotta the game on the Independent route.

The younger ones ain't even really hip to the Fact, and this is no exaggeration. That if you wasnt Major or Independent then you didn't exist. You was a MySpace Artist at "YourPlace", meaning where u laid your head at bekuz none of no real Social Media Mediums really existed then that were specifically designated for your Art

And tbh honest, if you was on an Independent back in those days then you kinda didn't exist either.

Unless you showed up on a Major Artist's record or album then you weren't really known "like that". If you didn't have a Single deal on a Soundtrack or appear on somebody's Remix then you coulda practically went anywhere out your State or Region and wouldn't have been known.

Daz as far as I know was the first person to do what's sort've like tha norm today. With the exception of the Mixtape game that 50 Cent brought to the table. With respect to Mobb Deep and Bad Boy
