I came in here to address the usual question. If ___________ is so dope, why didn't he create ________ after he left Dre?

Andre is very self aware about his abilities, believes in quality control, & is a better business man then those guys.

In hiphop, most artists & producers create their best material early in their career, when they are very eager to show what they can do. They eventually decline. When Deathrow was created, Andre had already been a producer for YEARS. At this point in time, he was smart enough to gather ideas/concepts/beats/etc from very young unpolished, but talented guys in Daz & Warren G. A younger Andre was definitely capable of doing things from scratch, but as he got older, he was smart enough to rely on others to keep his brand strong. A lot of these guys eventually max out what they can do on their own creatively, & start to turn to ghost producers, ghost writers, etc. This is what Andre has done throughout the years. It also allows him to focus on the engineering aspect, which appears to be his biggest strength. Andre makes his shyt crisp & clean. You can not take that away from him.

Daz has made A LOT of good material after Deathrow. However, Daz doesn't have the brand awareness Andre has. Andre has always put out minimal material to protect his brand. Who knows what kind of garbage he may have in the vault. Daz got on his independent shyt he learned from JT & would just release anything. He started to treat music as a hustle as opposed to the craft. He's also a very unstable guy. However, he did put out good solo albums such as Raw & This Life I Lead off the top of my head.

Some of these guys like Daz & Scott Storch where just too unstable to create a brand like Dre did. They don't have the resources that Andre has. Andre could reach out to anyone in the game & I guarantee that majority of them would be interested.

Last thing

Does Andre really seem like he's above taking credit for someone's work?

:wow:

So cause I said somethin about Ambitions as a Ridah I don't respect the architects? nikka u trying too hard. That's like me posting the sample of every song someone posts sayin respect the architects. The nikka Daz updated the drums and made em more current. Added a bassline. Added piano. Added synths and flutes. He built around the sample. Havoc was just more creative with his flip. He slowed the bassline down to make it sound more gutter. Added some drums. Added some synths and theres the beat. Neither beat is really hard to replicate technically. We knocking nikkas for recognizing the sample now? Smh. Lol

its not just a sample. its virtually the same dam beat. he just updated it with minor adjustments. sorta like what dre did to all his beats he didn't get credit for.

yall looked at the joeski love thread and didn't bother to reply or nothin. if I did an ambitionz thread, that chit would be 4 pages at the least.

Son I haven't even seen that thread until u pointed it out. So that's one thing. If nikkas ain't reply to it it ain't my problem. shyt happens bruh not every thread is a hit. And no. Ur wrong about what Daz did to that beat. And guess what?. Daz credited who he sampled. Problem ain't what Dre does to a beat. The problem is Dre taking SOLE credit for the beats. When he just cleans em up half the time. Or sometimes he would take credit and wasn't part of the process entirely. Basically what Daz was saying in the video. Dre tried to take credit and he didnt even touch the beat whatsoever. I already told u what Daz added to that beat. Any producer can come in here and tell u the same thing. This ain't some shyt u gonna win wit me. I make music for a living my nikka. What he did is essentially like someone building around a break beat sample or some shyt. If u gonna argue this shyt u have no idea what u talkin bout.

u saw it and you let it die. the whole thread saw it.
but hey, lets just give all the credit to daz instead right?

youre right. death row legally credited the sample. but they had no choice in the matter. I cant give them a cookie for that. its not like they shouted out the original song ever. that daz/2pac movie clip would have you think he made the beat from scratch.

dog, I could care less if youre a producer. I HAVE EARS. if I can spot the beat clear as day upon 1st listen at the tender age of 10, then theres nothing a producer can tell me to make it seem like daz made some great adjustments to the beat. I don't care if youre quincy jones. yes I hear the chit that he added to it. you aren't telling me anything that I don't already know breh. the chit aint much different. he didn't do anything spectacular.

were you familiar with the pee-wee dance before you heard "ambitionz of a ridah". cuz that's usually where the battle lines are drawn when it comes to these types of things. be honest.

Honestly man just stfu. Lol. Like really. Who the fukk ain't heard of the Pee Wee Dance nikka? You ain't teaching nobody nothin and that's ur problem. U try WAYYYY too hard to come off like a hip hop head. Noone HAS to reply to ya thread. I've made thread here. Sometimes I didn't get many replies. I keep it pushin. It ain't serious. I was in this thread when I first saw urs. I didn't feel the need to hop in ur thread whIle I was invested in this one. Why would they need to shout out the original song in they sampled? :what: nikka u sound stupid as fukk right now. Maybe they assumed people already knew where the sample came from. shyt dropped in 96. Where most adults knew shyt like that off bat. Considering the age group. Like I said. U just playin yaself right now and won't admit it. Like I said before. They took the drums. That's it. He built around the fukkin drums. It's literally impossible for me to list all the classic hip hop beats by legendary producers who did the SAME thing. U comin off novice as fukk and I'm not gonna argue this shyt no more cause like I said. This is what I do. Aint shyt u tellin me. Noone would argue CREAM aint a classic beat. And that shyt ain't nothin but a loop. Mad Rza beats was loops. Aint nobody shyttin on his production skills. U see them shoutin out every original sample they used? Any legitimate producer would tell u this same shyt I'm tellin u. U pointing out obvious samples actin like u exposing Daz was funny as fukk to me. Lol. That's why I thought u was originally tryna give him props.

I didn't say I was schooling you. in fact I asked you if you heard it. cuz you acting like daz made some great adjustments.

so YOU stfu. don't get disrespectful with me just cuz you on the hotseat. watch ya mout & be cordial nikka.

yep cream aint nothing but a loop. same with other joints like incarrcerrated scarfaces. and when you point it out to someone claiming those are the goat beats, they will try to chit on you. sorta like what youre trying to do right now, but I don't play that chit.

and I'm not trying hard to come off as nothin. I'm just in here talking hip-hop. if you feel some type of way about me bringing up certain chit, then that sounds like a personal problem.

U right there was no need to get disrespectful. All in all I respect u as a poster so that's my mistake. What I will say is this tho. We both have different views on hip hop production all together. Lol. The sampling aspect anyway. Hip hop was literally built off sampling break beats and that kinda sampling. The reason I said what I said about u tryna school someone is cause of ur last paragraph of ur last post. I was like son I got old home videos of me dancing to the Pee Wee Dance n shyt. Lol.

its all good.

I'm just saying, if anybody gets credit for that beat, it should be the originator. daz didn't do enough to it.

Respectfully disagree. I believe they should've gotten their credit for the sample and Daz did enough to it to change the vibe of the sample to get his credit too. Dude updated the drums. added a bassline. Piano. Synths. Voices. I mean everything outside the Drums. I'm tryna figure out what he could've done for u to say he deserved props.I mean he only took the drums from the original. And built around it. The melody n shyt ain't complicated but it worked. Especially if u tryna keep the groove of the drums.

the bolded.

he sprinkled his own flavor in it.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be credited as a producer or anything. but the way people carry on about that track, especially when its brought up with the GOAT beats. that credit should go to the originator. the sad part is, ive been listening to the pee-wee dance darn near all thru life and still have no clue who produced it. and now daz' name is all over it. I cant rock with that.
