There are several statues of confederates and schools named after them in NYC.

People forget (or just don't know) that the financial district of manhattan was built on an african slave graveyard. And NYC had slave ports and slave auctions where the federal reserve building is on Wall Street across from where the NYSE is.

I even found out that the original World Trade Center was built on top of a mass enslaved African graveyard as well.

I know some people might dismiss this as a minor victory, but I think it's huge when these monuments to the centuries old horror our ancestors were subjected to are taken down. Not removed. The replays on KTVU News tonight were Like it was a game winning shot, showing it nine times , different angles and in slow motion.

There's a Columbus statue in the State Capitol garden but I think city officials already removed it thinking it was going to end up like The Statue of Sacramento Co-Founder , John Sutter
