Why DC breh are grimey af, especially when they notice that you from NYC? IS IT BECAUSE OF ALPO?

Been to DC a million times and nobody acted grimey with me lol and I’m an open person naturally who talks to anybody

With that being said I’m always curious as to how some of you guys end up in situations like this

One thing I noticed about DC since moving back here from LA…nikkas is still posted up heavy outside the liquor store/carryouts/etc.

I was just riding down south capitol in Bellevue SE on Monday and thought it’s 40 deg and at least 30 nikkas posted up in the middle of the day. 24 hours later double shooting, one fatal in the same spot at the auto zone.

Crime has definitely been jumping through the roof across many cities in the US. This was one of the things I was worried about when the mask mandates were prolonged. It's no stretch to believe that people feel more anonymous with the masks on...with that, folks may feel more inclined to crime if they feel their identities would be hidden...

EDIT: Just look at the thread about the coordinated robberies and you'll notice all the perpetrators are masked up...

Inflation just started becoming a concern these past 2 months, so it's a bit too recent. Homicides have been up since last year and early this year in DC. In the pandemic, there was an enormous amount of government aid in the form of boosted UE and PPP loans (which dudes were hitting a lick like crazy on). So I don't think these are economic reasons for homicides.

It just seems folks feel they can get away with their crimes either due to a decline in policing, or an increased belief in not getting ID’d e.g. more widespread mask-wearing/anonymity.
