Also, this particular movie is based on a comic book storyline.
Every comic is based on a story line, I’m talking about what they putting together for a movie, they arent going to just recite and recreate everything in a comic panel

Really appreciate Gunn allowing these DC films to completely have their own entity in tone.
Yeah, but this film is adapting a very specific story. Most CBMs either jumble together different stories or mostly do their own thing separate from the comics.
Obviously, it's not going to be an exact adaptation but from what we've heard they're not deviating too much.

The original comic writer co-wrote this and Lobo wasn’t in the original story but the comic writer added him. So whatever weakness you are expecting are probably in the original story and nothing to do with Gunn.
my statements are regarding modern tropes in Female led films, don't over complicate it.
