He’s not worth $58 million and they know that, but they’re doing it so they can move him for a better star caliber player later once one becomes available.

Harper is the future. Sneaky athletic and a better playmaker than Fox. Fox will think he’s a first option instead of the 7’3 unicorn next to him.
and how does that make him tradeable in the future?
Fox can shoot - once again, people clearly don’t watch the Kings. Dude can and always has been a middy magician and added the 3 two seasons ago. But the world acts like playing with broken finger on your shooting hand an entire season when you were told to get surgery makes no difference. These posts will age badly.
the bigger issue with Fox is that his #1 asset is speed and when that goes, he becomes super ordinary.

I honestly don't think Harper or Castle will even be as good as Fox is. Time will tell tho.
:hubie:

That’s the thing for me

This assumption that Harper & Castle will just easily lap Fox and make him redundant

Could it happen? Sure. But folks talking like it’s some type of given are crazy

Look at how fast Westbrook is at his current age despite all the knee injuries he's had.
Fox has had no serious knee injuries yet and people think he's gonna fall off a cliff.

If you’re a team with a disgruntled star and can potentially get a Castle or other young player along with picks, and all you have to take back is a score first guard, it’s worth it in my opinion

I agree but let’s say potentially Giannis or Jaylen Brown want out 2027 season, could Fox and Castle (or another young player) and some picks get that done? Most teams won’t be able to offer much better than that

Harper might have appealed more to Milwaukee than Fox on a fully loaded deal.

If the Celtics get to a point where Brown has to go, at that point, blow it all up. Swapping Brown for Fox and picks and tryna convince Tatum that the Tatum/Fox fit will work better feels like a fool's errand.

fox is a top 10 pg and two years removed from all nba honors

its unlikely that both castle and harper are ever as good as him
Shai
Luka
Cade
Book
Steph
Brunson
Haliburton
Maxey
Kyrie
Harden
Trae Young

He may be top 10 by default right now due to Kyrie and Haliburton being hurt but when everyone is healthy he’s not in that tier.

He’s in that next tier with Lamelo, Garland, Jamal Murray etc

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio
Spurs realize Vic is ready to win already. An in-prime star wanting to be in SA, they were always going to cut the check. Spurs bout to put in work. As for the Fox/Castle/Harper conundrum, Castle is the one to keep an eye on. Love his mentality, but he has the most questionable jumper of the 3, and even I as a Spurs fan know McCain was winning ROY before he got injured.
