I bought this yesterday morning and off the beats alone it's easily their weakest album. I don't think they were going for mainstream appeal because obviously there's no way that would happen considering their content. When I started seeing the album described as "futuristic" I knew shyt was probably gonna be :beli:. The last track on the album sounds more like your typical DP track, my favorite on here is What If The Lights Go Out.

I agree with this being their weakest album. Don't know why they would go this route with these beats.

Broaden their production/audience? International appeal? Sh1t, they already had that. There have to be a reason why they did an album like this, because if they did it just to switch it up or be "different" cats who been down with DP since day one and copped all their solo and side projects are gonna listen to this album for the first time like :why:

even that young noble/stic man album was better- actually that was fire- i bought that from tower records back in the days- shyt was piff

I think it's genius that they are spittin the shyt they are over these Top40 Pop beats. They created something that never existed before.

i thought about it- they still spittin that knowledge on the tracks but trying to reach out to a wider audience by making the beats sound like black eyed peas beats

Damn, is the production that bad? Fam mentioned Fergie could rhyming over these tracks....That's just wow. :russ: I'm afraid to check for this. I've always checked for DP, I even thought Stic's joint, The Workout was ill. Production was niiiice on there. What happened?
