if he can bring the vertical with him then that'll be huge. he doesn't need ESPN but it'll catapult his brand and can grow to replace grantland. plus he would be a great fit for the NBA draft show.

woj is the only person aside from spears here and there, that i fukks with when it comes to nba coverage.
Dave McMenamin is the best feature writer of them all. Woj the most-connected reporter. Zach Lowe the best writer/analyst.

They're all the best of the best to get to ESPN, though. Even though ESPN is cutting back, Woj is on a 4-year/$6+ million contract at Yahoo. No doubt ESPN can find $10 million to bring Woj on board.

wouldnt he be a terrible fit for the ESPN draft show? he confirms picks before they are announced live on ESPN

So Yahoo just gave him his own shyt last year and now he's bouncing? I wonder what happens to all those people he hired to work for the Vertical and the vehicle itself, their draft show was better than ESPN's.

then whats his value during the draft?
Honestly, the fact that nobody else has him. He wouldn't do analysis or anything like that. But ESPN would treat Woj on draft night like a team that trades for a player ... just so it doesn't have to compete against him.

are there any other writers/reporters worth a shyt at yahoo still? this effectively closes the chapter on any relevance yahoo has outside of fantasy sports

I do love Yahoo for fantasy sports, but I'm not checking out much of its sports coverage.

Woj, Zach Lowe, Brian Windhorst, Marc Spears, Dave McMenamin, Marc Stein all reporting on the NBA :banderas: like KD joining the Warriors.

What do these two bring to the table that isn't LeBron James propaganda? Anything else is probably a lie except for that one summer that McMenamin with the LAkers and Clippers.

i don't think confirming picks before they're announced will kill it, especially if you have him off-camera report. his reporting and insight can bring another perspective to the show, such as trade rumors or moves teams are trying to make. sort of like chris mortensen during the NFL draft or chris broussard except with credibility.
