What do these two bring to the table that isn't LeBron James propaganda? Anything else is probably a lie except for that one summer that McMenamin with the LAkers and Clippers.
Well, Windhorst's resume of breaking stories speaks for itself. He's connected to LeBron unlike anybody other than Dan Jenkins? from SI. It might be favorable 99 percent of the time, but LeBron's the kind of star where the "propaganda" is usually true.

As far as McMenamin ... he does a great job covering the Cavs beat. Then he delves into nice features, too. His piece on Boogie and Kings (Who is the bigger problem -- DeMarcus Cousins or the Kings?) a week or two ago was about the most memorable ESPN Mag article since Jackie Mac on Garnett (The cruel tutelage of the Wolves' Kevin Garnett).

ESPN's not perfect by any means. But I thoroughly enjoy its NBA coverage :yeshrug:

That piece on Boogie isn't McM's, its Kevin Arnovitz's.

I do love Yahoo for fantasy sports, but I'm not checking out much of its sports coverage.

Woj, Zach Lowe, Brian Windhorst, Marc Spears, Dave McMenamin, Marc Stein all reporting on the NBA :banderas: like KD joining the Warriors.

shyt Yahoo has the best coverage for NBA draft.

are there any other writers/reporters worth a shyt at yahoo still? this effectively closes the chapter on any relevance yahoo has outside of fantasy sports

Michael Lee is a pretty good NBA columnist and Shams Charania has been breaking stories for a few years now, Woj basically took him under his wing.

Seems like Woj realized that if he wants to grow the Vertical brand, he needs ESPN behind it. I'm sure he won't let ESPN take ownership of the Vertical brand like Simmons did with Grantland, that will be part of the deal. He used to do spots on FS1 when that started but FS1 isn't getting any traction especially since ESPN has all the sports, especially the NBA. The Ringer just signed Mike Lombardi, who was on FS1 also, to an exclusive deal last week. Lebatard had been preaching about the power of ESPN since Simmons, Cowherd and Skip left. They got their money but but they are not really relevant anymore...

doesn't make sense to leave Yahoo where he pretty much has 100 percent control to join ESPN. He won't have the same type of freedom that he currently has.
