OK. That makes sense. You're 31...right on the edge of the cliff before falling off.

You're having to take what you can get at this point.

A woman in her prime, with options, isn't taking most single dads seriously. Let's be real.

Just as a single man, in his prime with options, isn't taking most single moms seriously.
I've dated someone with a kid before I was at the "edge of the cliff" lol

If we're keeping it real, then let's just point out that someone people think entirely too highly of themselves and can't get past their needs and fail to take it down a notch and analyze what they're bringing to a relationship...just because you don't have a kid doesn't mean you don't have baggage (emotional, financial, etc)...no one is going to be perfect.

It is a package because that means less attention and time for his s.o. and not every female can handle that...the kid ALWAYS comes first...before your birthday, before anything...so if you can understand that, even though sometimes it's annoying, then it's doable. People without kids don't have to worry about those kinds of responsibilities, so they're used to getting 100% (or at least close to it) attention all the time. It is ideal to date someone without a kid, but if the person is worth it, then I can put some of my needs aside to allow him to be a great father....because that's what he should be doing.

Most women with options aren't settling for playing second fiddle to some kid.

Dude would have to be damn near perfect for her to push her other viable options aside.

Kids grow up and eventually, while they will always be there, they won't need that constant support...they will become more independent. Yes, the guy would definitely have to be bringing a LOT of other things to the table...but if you're with someone where you see long term/marriage being an option, then you stick it out. I don't view it as "settling" if you're genuinely happy...I'll always choose to be with whomever makes me happy in the end.

No kids because I haven't been married. Not necessarily scared. I know quite a bit of women in their mid 30's who haven't had problems getting pregnant. There are risks as you get older, yes, but if you for sure know you want to have a child and aren't ready, you can get your eggs frozen (one of my girlfriends did that)...just saying that because it is an option...
