I enjoyed 20/20 but Timbo/Justin's "sound" is getting played. More producers + boundary/envelope pushing is needed. Everything the two do together now sounds like a conglomeration of nice basslines, 808s, complex "snares" and hiccups, burps & space farts with random timbo ad-libs and beatboxes, and Justin playing second fiddle to all that by singing over it.....all coming together to make a unique....but played....very played sound from him.

Part 2 should NOT be more of the same, it should be.........different. I think if he went for an old-school "ballad" feel...or even better, creating a new sound all together, it would make both parts of the 20/20 Experience live up to the title.
you fake ass A&R are the worst.

He should make whatever music he feels like making

:salute: honest criticisms and I agree 100 percent.

:salute: for understanding.

I just think it would be dope to do half, awkward timbo production, then half "Robin Thicke" (think Lost Without You...or a more Maxwell-ish) type sound over live instrumentation...more soulful & R&Bish...if his 2nd half was more like that, he could capture not only the pop, but the OLD SCHOOL R&B fans who aren't yet sold on him...dude could build something monumental, which I believe is his M.O....Think about it. The first half is already the most sold album in the last few years...This nikka would corner the market, playing it smart, instead of letting Tim dominate him...Even a more "Aaliyah-ish" (One In A Million Timbo) type sound would be better than another 13-15 songs with that fruity ass jungle :mjpls: production this nikka churning out left & right. It makes everything sound the same.

IMO he's good with Pharrell too....dude just needs to expand his production and reallize even though Tim brought him back, he doesn't HAVE to ride w him on everything...I'm sure Tim behind the scenes, dictating to this nikka what to do in most instances...And I'm pretty sure TKO is hot, but I listened to it for like ten seconds and felt like I've heard it before.....Many times. Smh.

Still a dope Artist and Artist/Producer combo though. There's no hate in my post, for u fukknikkas. :umad:

Man, those 7 minute singles are really killing this guy's career. :rudy:

Debased, modern music attitude. Marvin's Got To Give It Up was over 10 minutes long, and it was a single. So many longer singles have done well. People just aren't able to handle them anymore.

he's been doing long tracks since futuresex...the weeknd does a lot of lenghty tracks too....it's dope as fukk to me...fukk that 2-3 min ish..if you can put together a dope record that goes on for 7 mins or more...do it

they did this a lot back in the day, cats like Stevie and Marvin, Isaac, and etc..the problem is these cats today cant execute it the same and it comes off as boring, where 4 mins or so should be tops.

because you couldn't tell it was 10 minutes long.

JT's songs are the same monotonous beat with some corny bridge after 5 minutes and some attempt at a "remix" at the end.

That's fair. I couldn't care less about JT, but this article presents it like 7 minutes is too long for a single, period, not that it's too long because it's JT's.
