Breh, theres like no real way you can know how far you have to be to line up the sights on a sniper rifle in a game. I can’t measure the distance in ft/yrds when im just a game character on the side of a cliff.

i basically gotta shoot the damn thing to know how far I am and by then I’ve already alerted everyone to my position and i can’t use it again because everyone running around. Makes the sniper useless until you get the suppressor on it
Big facts. Every time I pull it out they remind me it will make noise and cause a scene with out suppressors so I don’t bother using it.

I guess the idea was to shoot and move, since they only investigate the spot where you were. Or combine it with a smoke grnade or something but that’s too much work.

I just sneak in with the bola gun or bind people.

I disagree. I freaking love the sniper rifle. It makes it easier to kill them than other weapons, even if it makes noise, so I move to different spots, so I am am able to spot them since I have already marked them. Sometimes, I stay at the same spot after I shot them and some of them don't know where I was at when they found the corpse, and they went in a different direction.

The sniper -- even without a suppressor-- is overpowered. I've cleared entire bases with it because the enemies literally charge to your position and essentially funnel themselves at you. After a successful shot, time then dilates and it makes it easy to rattle off an extra headshot. Sniper was so cheesy that I removed it from my arsenal. Gameranx even talks about here (tinestamped).

As a stealth guy, alerting enemies wasn't how I wanted to approach combat in the first place so nothing lost there. Once I unlock the suppressed one, I'll take it back on the road to use when I want to rapidly clear a base from distance.

Having access to the weapons, items, vehicles, etc so early on really does make it a great entry point for newcomers and I love that it feels like we're picking right up where the first one ended.

The issue remains that the first one is filled to the brim with unique critical plot points that can't be skipped to understand what is going on in part 2 so I still can't recommend people ignoring the first one and jumping into the second.

I also understand the mechanics of the game way more than when I went in blind to the first one.
I already have an extensive highway that makes going back and forth a breeze.
I stole an enemy truck at the first opportunity I had and I've been enjoying taking the necessary materials to build roads quickly where I need them.

I avoid using it entirely too. Makes the game too easy.

AI in brutal is kinda cool. I’m doing an infiltration mission to steal something for a scientist.

I had 2/3 items and some other lost packages to deliver. I put my back pack down to go clear the rest of the base, these mofos on the truck spot my cargo, deviate from the regular route and steal the items I needed to deliver.

Along with waking up all the people I tranquillized

Yup. One of the bandits in a vehicle was shooting at my vehicle when I wasn't in it to drive and wasn't near my bike. When I saw them what they did to my bike and I was :damn: and I had to run to protect my bike and cargos and :bustback:at them
