Nicca I feel like you dont even watch basketball, why would a team who needs a Pg let the actual young defensive minded Pg who we just drafted in a losing season play over Alec Burk? What benefit could that possibly have ?
I feel like only me and thibs understand the assignment

Haven’t resigned a rookie to a second contract since Charlie Ward.

:snoop:

I remember getting called names by some of the very same posters on this board when I said a certain #4 pick would want to dip cause the Knicks were losing & bullshytting.

Now we might see again with Mitch ( I'm still holding out hope).

This organization is dumb as hell. Wasting everybody's time sending Deuce down to the G-league to smack up on cats we already know he's better than. While we all gotta watch Burks start and get cooked up again by Maxey next game. :unimpressed:

All season a lot of us keep saying the same thing about Deuce....the only word I can think of this moment is incompetence. What other coach or team wouldn't give Deuce a look if we have a glaring hole in the PG position. Unbelievable lol. To me, this just shows how much autonomy the FO has given Thibs in his decision making

I'm putting my bets on not becoming a habitual play in team. Which is exactly what will happen if we use all our flexibility on a rim runner. He's a final piece. Problem is we need multiple pieces. If there's a way you can unload randle/noel/fournier. Sure, sign mitch. But that's not happening.
:jbhmm:

With the cap going up, how much are you thinking is "all our flexibility?" It sounds like you feel like all of those contracts are unmovable in this off-season which I disagree with

ahh well last season Obi got key minutes too towards the end. He had a lot of key stretches giving Randle a breather. We just need to realize that as long as Randle is here, Obi is never gonna get a real opportunity. Still, Obi was given decent stretches towards the end of the year and in the playoffs...not to the extent of IQ but

I dont recall Obi being on the court late in any close games since he's been drafted, reg season or playoffs.

This goes back to my point of accountability and trying new things in a lost season. The acceptance argument is a cop-out imo but lets just agree to disagree at this point

I do. But in the sense of cap flexibility. I think they can be traded for bad contracts in return.

Free Deuce

And I like how he answered the questions being thrown out. He could've put Thibs on blast for being stuck in his ways & stubborn (which he totally is) but handled it with humility & class

Right. I think there will be interest in some of these guys who missed out on key free agents for positions of need.
