False. Its not an assertion of fact. Its an idea developed out of the aether. The statement about "god existing" is a statement of fact.

keep up.
actually the statement that humans have INTRINSIC worth and intrinsic rights that are not to be violated is in fact an assertion of fact because it is appealing to objectivity

And again the concept of intrinsic worth and human rights that should not be violated is one that is in fact mere illusion

Again the basis of the majority of revolutions from an oppressed people group has always been on the basis that they believed the powers that be violated an intrinsic right that they believed they had

An illusory concept they believed to be true

An illusory concept that has been the major driving force in our people's fight against racism

But now u are saying those who believe in such illusory concepts are not pro black??

the religion used to indoctrinate our people for 400 years so they could sit idly by living in squalor for the long shot that white jesus would save them from their lifelong suffering in death...yeah, sounds pretty fukking pro-black to me.

Again, so you say.

Hah, okay?

FWIW, my problem with Romney had nothing to do with his being Mormon, but with the legal gymnastics he pulled at Bain Capital to basically keep billions of dollars out of the country. He's the definition of un-American IMHO...but that's for another conversation.

Like I said: that's your problem. But until you start some pro-black cause (which as an atheist you most likely haven't or won't) that calls for volunteers and leadership, your words are pointless.

And why is that?

last I checked there were hundreds of black atheists on the streets during the civil rights movements of the 60s and 70s.

Being Pro Black encompasses everything on this planet including religion because it still has it's origins in blackness. We understand that it has been preversed and diluted but we do not forget the roots responsible for all the spin offs. If you study history....real history, then you will begin to appreciate the lineage of everything we've brought forth into the world.

Its not. Its a standard used to progress the conversation of how to run a society, but its not a statement of fact.

And again the concept of intrinsic worth and human rights that should not be violated is one that is in fact mere illusion
Thats not an illusion. Its an arbitrary distinction, but it is not a statement of fact.

Again the basis of the majority of revolutions from an oppressed people group has always been on the basis that they believed the powers that be violated an intrinsic right that they believed they had
Based on their arbitrary assertions

An illusory concept they believed to be true
Thats still not an illusion. Its the substation of their arbitrary assertion over another

An illusory concept that has been the major driving force in our people's fight against racism
False. The co-opting of religion WITH statements of fact about deities makes it an untrue endeavor
But now u are saying those who believe in such illusory concepts are not pro black??
1. moral pronouncements are not objective and don't claim to be.
2. statements of fact proclaim objectivity
3. false statements of fact can't help any sort of "pro-black" effort.

And none of that has anything to do with believing in the god of the bible.

@Napoleon

In order to claim against something you must have a standard in which to judge against. For example that line is not straight. You must be aware of what a straight line is and ACCEPT in its entirety that fact to compare something to it. To know that line is not straight is to understand the standard of straight to have in order to measure against.

In order to have an athestic belief you are acknowledging and ACCEPT there is GOD in which to have a standard to self judge your opposite belief. You have to ACCEPT the standard of GOD in order to say I don't believe in GOD. People sit in God's lap to slap his face.

Thats like asking how you can still live in America.

No religion that I known of asks people to simply sit at home and pray. Not a single one.

If you want to see Hitchens get sonned look at him vs. William Lane Craig.

The debate went exactly as I expected. Craig was flawless and unstoppable. Hitchens was rambling and incoherent, with the occasional rhetorical jab. Frankly, Craig spanked Hitchens like a foolish child.
