Decline in rap quality is correlated to literacy. These rappers now don't read books, don't write, illiterate. No longer intense path b/w poetry to rap

True. Kendrick also took psychology courses at UCLA to enhance his songwriting.

why should these young dumbazz illiterate rappers further their reading and education when they are paid to look stupid and be dumb? There is money in being famous, black and stupid. Now the money won't last a lifetime because just as quick as they give it to them, they can cheat them out of it, but that's the point.

I can honestly say listening to rap made me a better writer in school :wow: . Manipulation of the English language by elite lyricist >>>>>

Days long gone past :flabbynsick:
Hip-hop educated me a lot.

I'd hear a rapper talking about something then do research on that topic.

Idk if that still exists today.

exactly. When I first heard Nature of a Threat as a 19 year old, I was fascinated. When I first heard the parts of "black thanks" at 13 years old on Professor Griff's debut, I was intrigued to know who these people were he named. These kids today don't want to do shyt but keep their faces in their phones and find new ways to get high

People always be on some “but the 90’s” or “but the rappers back then did it too” type shyt. That why these discussions never go anywhere. You can easily debunk the statement in the OP by bringing up current rappers who go against what that person is saying.. they don’t get the support though.
