Define the pro-black and it's purpose

I say, Its kinda hard to say he isn't Pro Black just cuz he married white.

In my opinion, yea. I know a few brothers in real life who are outspokenly pro-black, but also married white women. It's none of my business at all but imo, they kinda missed the point.

Because we can all talk a big game, but there's nothing more "real life" pro black than having a black family.

The leaders of pro blackness was garvey huey newton and malcolm x. To me pro black.

1. Having a black wife and family. U got to make sure u keeping black people going.

2. Loving ur blackness without having to be cosigned by white people.

3. Working at the grass roots level like tariq or lavar ball. At the mainstream level pro blackness will be watered down. U got create ur own platform to push the idea of pro blackness with no worry of backlash.

4. Working with and within the black community. Pushing self love and teaching blacks about true black history.

5. Never cape or take a non black side on a issue unless they are willimg to sacrifice for black people.

Eh I disagree win old that's the easiest so easy a caveman can do it shyt you can do. The most pro black thing you can do is make money and or learn something that helps more blacks than your little fukking family can being honest. Most people have black kids that don't end up doing shyt but being 9to5 workers. That ain't shyt. The same thing goes for whites and any other race for the emotional bytch readers that think I'm taking shots at blacks. Actually doing stuff that benefits more than your family is more pro black than doing the easiest shyt you can do which is date those who are closest to you on avg and having a kid with them.

Pro-blackness is a lifestyle and working for the betterment of black people all over the world. It means your identity is not eurocentric and trying to build your community.

The problem with this is majority of black people are eurocentric and don't understand what Pro-Black really means and because we're such a tribal people we love to split ourselves into smaller groups

For example diaspora wars and gender wars

That's what I think about pro-blackness

Good ass thread. It’s good when we can trim the fat and try to establish the nomenclature. I see a lot of brothers conflate terms and misrepresent certain values a lot on and off here.

Without the extrapolations. I see pro-black as a social structure (having to do with the idea of a “people”) that compliments the economic structure of Pan Africanism (having more to do with nation, markets and the innerowrkings of a government) That’s not to say that every pan African is pro black (see arabs in North Africa), but like socialism and communism, they’re best suited working in tandem with one another.

Unfortunately I would have to agree with dude in OP who said being gay and pro black don’t mesh. If you’re not working for our kids then you’re not pro black.

But Dr Diop isn't your typical average brother. Are u even familiar with Dr Diop? The main reason I mentioned him is because of his contribution to Black studies. This isn't just your ordinary Blackman. Also, I know plenty of Blackmen who aint shyt but got kids. So there has to be more substance then just 'having a Black family.' I'd put Dr Diop over a lot of these 'aint shyt' nikkaz out here with kids.

Knocking up a woman you hate who just happens to be black and then sending her $80 a month out of your paycheck so you don't have to raise your kids is != having a black family, breh.

Being a black man, with a black spouse and black kids that does everything in his power to benefit black people before other groups. It also means being a good example for others.

I’m disqualified because my kids aren’t full black, but I support the idea.
