I cant hate on this, somebody gotta do it eventually so why not him. At least he got the balls to tackle this. His sons are there with him so he knows he gotta make it work so they can get to the NFL. Im sure he wont stay once his sons graduate.

:whoa:

that's a little too far there, you can make it to the NFL from an HBCU but it probably won't be the conventional way. Scouts do check for you regardless of where you at if you putting in work.

Alcorn's Chris Blair Signs With NFL Playoff Team - HBCU Gameday

that’s few far and between stop fronting

Having high star recruits go to HBCU is not asking them to sacrifice their future careers or lives. It to start a trend of considering HBCU in order to bolster the quality of life of those schools as we represent a great portion of the talent in these sports, why not cultivate and facilitate that talent through our schools.

It is simply the first logical step in getting money to begin flowing into HBCU sports programs.

Granted state and private schools have had decades of cash flowing in, so of course there is no comparison to the current state of HBCU.

Yet, that is not to say what the future state could be if this becomes prevalent.

so you think by your logic it’s as easy as just show up to Mississippi valley, and a nikka gon be on, hey question how many of them kids who transfer to a hbcu have a career longer than 3-5 years ??? Hey where’s Isaiah Crowell he still in the league?? Is he an all nfl ??

4 things will happen.

1. Jackson St will have marginal success and eventually Prime gives up and takes a head coaching job at another school
2. Prime will turn the program around and then leave once he gets offers from bigger programs.
3. Jackson St will become a major program leaving the other HBCU's in the dust which will prompt them to move up to 1-A
4. Other HBCU's will copy Jackson St and/or other former NFL players will get inspired by Prime and go to other HBCU's to try to duplicate the success.

What’s gon happen is he gon bounce and leave JSU in quite the predicament

The difference is because of white supremacy.

no the difference in alumni with big money to donate to make a program better

Not really. It was just the simple fact that white schools raided the talent pool after integration.

Black players were still going to the NFL, but a lot of them watched the Notre Dames and Nebraska's, and Texas Longhorns on TV and were conditioned to believe those schools were god like. And it just bled to one generation to the next.

they didn’t believe they were better, it was better opportunities period and there is a difference and to act otherwise is being oblivious

TV exposure doesn’t mean shyt in today’s college football. Carson Wentz didn’t have TV exposure but scouts all knew who he was.

Trey Lance didn’t have TV exposure but is the 4th rated QB in this years draft.

not to mention HBCU’s play on TV now.

At the end of the day, going to a PWI doesn’t guarantee you an NFL job. The players make the school not the other way around.

College game day stays at North Dakota state ESPN shows their games and you know why they literally have won how many championships

stop the bs

If for 4 years we could get all the top black athletes to go to HBCU's, the money would flip because they'd be dominating. Alabama with no black players is not competing for shyt. All that Bowl money would have to go to the HBCU's because they'd have the best teams.

I remember they shut down Morris Brown's program and some Grambling players boycotted because they had mold on their equipment. :scust:

why not donate and create a better environment for the athletes to land so they will pick hbcu over pwi

the ether
The money at smaller schools isn’t there like it is at big ones such as Clemson, which opened its $55 million football complex in 2017. It came in part from College Football Playoff payouts and is a cycle that brings in top recruits who then put them in more championships.
Pretty ridiculous that with everything else about making the playoff already unfair, then they use it to give the privileged schools an even bigger advantage.

They were also getting staph infections from poorly sanitized uniforms.

It's easy to donate, but at some point these schools need reliable boosters who regularly dump six figures at minimum into the program. $50-100 doesn't move the needle. It might pay for a few meals or office supplies.

that’s my point, these dudes acting like if 6 five stars show up at Mississippi Valley then all of a sudden money falls out the sky, but in the same breath nikkas want these kids at (insert school here) and ain’t donated the first dollar. These conversations always bring out pie in the sky thought processes no one has no concrete way for these kids to thrive, and in order for your plan to work why does it have to be at the sacrifice of several kids and recruiting cycles. You got cats saying it’s no excuse cuz a nikka lifting a train wheel, that they should be ok at working out at subpar weight rooms, One example i use i had a homie that went to Bama state, nikkas got a protein bar after practice, mean while up in Tuscaloosa you have a shake and breakfast and meal plan catered to what the staff wants you to achieve (losing weight, bulking up, etc)

yep instead of putting pressure on high school kids, put pressure on black millionaires and billionaries to donate

and i said awhile ago the difference between PWIs and HBCUs are like comparing a 5 star hotel to a 2 star hotel

if somebody were to offer you to pay for your room, you choosing the 5 star hotel or the 2 star hotel??:usure:

Another thing is that the HBCU alums I know that donate could give two shyts about their money going to the football program. They'd rather that money go into the actual schools/colleges and not into sports.
