And?

He still had more media push that 90% of rappers these days and still has had songs come and go on the charts not to mention the song you are talking about now.

Nowadays radio stations play the same few songs ovr an over again so he has all the promotion he needs..

Like I said you guys just sound greedy. :dead:

@krackdagawd @LeVraiPapi mind telling this gentleman how yall got into Thug's music?:jbhmm:

Was it a mainstream push by the media as he says? Or did you think he was a weak rapper, stumble across listening to the Barter 6 album by chance one day, and then became sold on the fact Thug actually can make good entertaining music....and became hooked ever since?:jbhmm:

Myself
Anybody who is into star wars would express interest in the older movies and talk about it once in awhile and even watch parts sometimes.

These guys who listen to Young Thug delete his old album and download the new one and never looks back. Thats not truly liking him. :dead:

I know what you're saying but the younger generation got their own idols Bruh. The babies don't view certain things & people the way we view certain things & people. The typical generation thing.

Thug is dealin with the same issues all of his Contemporaries are dealing with in terms of the Lifespan Awareness of his craft.

Thug released over 100 songs this year alone. We weren't even getting that type of shyt when Pac was around. If the industry was still Run & Supported pre-Internet and Artists were releasing 14 song Albums every 2-3 years then you might be singing a different tune.

I definitely know what you gettin at tho. I hate that fake shyt too. You got all these Cole dikkriders on here but when's the last time any of them played "Friday Night Lights" or "Sideline Story" lol

Im not dissing the guy. Im just pointing out a group of people who treat rappers like accessories and dont genuinely like them and how much they did for Young Thug even though they ride him temporarily. :manny:

I remember when he first came out my boy showed me and I roasted him for listening to that homo shyt. I started showin him some of the pictures being posted about him and my friend stopped listening to him that day.

A few months pass and the same nikka catches me listening to Thugger :whew:

He was on some  shyt.

I'll take this one, Newzz.

I've never once heard Thugger on the radio outside of "About the Money". I happened to see a post regaling his melodic talents and penchant for rhythm on the Coli one slow Friday afternoon and took it upon myself to listen to a few tracks on the video site YouTube.

I came across the song "Best Friend" and was fascinated by the rhythmic mastery Thugger exhibited in every aspect of the track: the verse, the hook, even the adlibs (the perfectly modulated vibrato on one of the "scrrrrrr"s captured my attention in a way no other musical moment has in years). That, combined with the esoteric visuals and dance moves clearly delineated from the traditional Sabar dance of the Senegalese, had me fascinated. Thugger was so effortlessly creating a distinctly AFRICAN American aesthetic rhythmically, melodically, and visually. Truly a masterclass performance.

Then, once I looked into the lyrics and saw themes of rugged independence, self-belief, and familial consciousness-- I could never go back to judging Thugger's work through the narrow lens I did before. I suddenly "got it". I started to do a close listening of the rest of his discography and felt foolish for having thereto precluded myself from recognizing the sonic savant.
