I asked because I just came across this interview Phil Spencer did with Giant Bomb last week. He clearly states the Scorpio will never have games different from the Xbox 1. So if MS keeps their word. No way another MS console is released until at least 2020 or 2021. That opens up room for Sony to release the PS5 in 2018 or 2019.

The PS5 could launch with 5.5 "teraflops" which is less than Scorpio, but all that power could be used for exclusives or 3rd party unlike Scorpio. Phil out his own mouth said there would never be different sku's or anything exclusive to Scorpio. To me it looks like MS will have stuck themselves into this Gen a year or two too long. All that power just to play a better looking version of a X1 game a year & half later don't seem worth it.

With that said if Scorpio can be around 400$. that would tempt me. I just don't understand why Scorpio is not a new gen? :manny:

Microsoft squandering the potential of another gen. Developers gotta make scorpio games compatible with all other platforms now? It's a joke

The entire shyt you posted is dumb as fukk. It lacks an understanding of game development and the business behind it.

Your thread is dumb as fukk breh:manny:
Enlighten me then. Give a opinion on why I'm wrong. Or just stay out the thread. I don't need to understand business. Phil Spencer said their will never be Scorpio exclusives or even different sku's. So Scorpio is just a souped up Xbox One.

Gens are done breh...at this point we're entering console phases, where you upgrade for more beefy performance, but otherwise just play new games coming out. Similar to PC.
We still going to get Gens. Neo & Scorpio are nothing but a PS4 & X1. I just think a PS5 is coming before MS releases anything after Scorpio.

Yea that's obvious, you can go on and on about Sony having more worldwide success and not needing to care, but they not gonna be trying to go long without having the most powerful system. Expect this 3-4 year game of cat and mouse for the future at this point.

First off. The narrative that games are held back by lesser hardware is very overblown. People are playing 2016 PC games on hardware that came out a long time ago. Game engines are made very scaleable in order to accommodate the largest possible pool of potential customers. The idea of rigid "generations" is long gone. All devs/hardware makers are moving in this direction including Sony.

Second. The difference in power between X1 and Scorpio is not large enough to be considered an entire gen jump it's only 5 times the power, in comparison the jump from 360 to X1 was about 10 times or more. There is not enough space in between them to warrant a game being made specifically for Scorpio.

Third. Sony is releasing a new similarly powered system supposedly this year or even early next year. So going by your schedule, why would Sony only take 1-2 years to come out with another system, but Microsoft take 3-4? Seems they'd both release around the same time or a year apart as always.

4th Neo is 4.5 tflops. It would make absolutely no sense for Sony to add 1 Tflop and call it an entire new gen.

As I said your entire post is dumb. Try harder next time:francis:

So being able to play games in 4K not a generational leap :wtf:

Say things like the most powerful console ever not being considered a new gen brehs
