America is so behind it's pathetic. Why are people treating this like it's some new and revolutionary idea? Japan has these.

And of course leave it to the coli to put a racial spin on it. Make it seem like it's part of some grand racial conspiracy to keep blacks/hispanics oppress.

2nd trending/plat thread this week :ohhh:
@TheColi time to renegotiate my deal

Also the cac from this company did a cac'pology
https://blog.bodega.ai/so-about-our-name-aa5bff63a92d

"Rather than take away jobs, we hope Bodega will help create them." :beli:

"The name Bodega sparked a wave of criticism on social media far beyond what we ever imagined. When we first came up with the idea to call the company Bodega we recognized that there was a risk of it being interpreted as misappropriation. We did some homework — speaking to New Yorkers, branding people, and even running some survey work asking about the name and any potential offense it might cause" they did surveys yall :skip:

"We commit to reviewing the feedback and understanding the reactions from today. Our goal is to build a longterm, durable, thoughtful business and we want to make sure our name — among other decisions we make — reflects those values." We'll be in touch :troll:

Ironic how they toss the n-word around nonchalantly.
I don't care if some cac uses the word Bodega.

I mean there are real concerns about gentrification and what this glorified vending machine could mean economically for a lot of people.

But to act offended over the word "bodega" is just...sorry. I don't see it.

Japans had all sorts of crazy vending machines for decades that shyt never ever took off in the US and never will. vending machines like this just arent going to pop in the US. we couldnt even get umbrella vending machines to pop off.

everyone wants to get rich, and be the next big "industry disrupter" but a lot of these ideas are fukkin horrible. this roving vending machine. a dozen useless monthly recurring services ("hey...order socks from this app and have fresh socks delivered every month")

funny we learned nothing from the dot-com bubble burst 15-16 short years ago. a bunch of VC + an app + a one word title/name with no vowels in it = the next big million dollar idea

In the Silver Lining
But see...you guys don't understand...

It's a BODEGA Tm....

It's new and exciting and disruptive.

Cause like White people in the cool totally safe part of Brooklyn need their Nature Valley Granola and Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt and Smart Water while the Black and Latinos in the totally not safe part of Harlem need their Strawberry Poptarts and Honey BBQ Fritos and their Newports. Using machine learning, they will be able to respond to the needs of their community and streamline and refine their product selection unlike the countless bodegas (remember small b...not big b).

BODEGA Tm isn't a vending machine, it's a community pantry that frees up urban space. :jawalrus::troll:

Oh shiit....

the crazy thing is the cac and the indian already got other people's money so they good. By the time this flops they have already paid themselves a salary for a year minimum. Nobody has to put up the money with this tech vc bullshyt because the return on investment with an actual hit is so high that you can find 20 companies to throw you 100k each and you got 2 million to do some bullshyt. If they had to put up their own money this shyt wouldn't have gotten out the gate. Nobody is putting their house on the line to start their own vending machine company :heh:
