nikka how u gonna rationalize a negative +/- for five consecutive seasons, regular season and playoffs? You can’t.

Derozan was never that good to begin with. The nikka just got a lot of opportunities to shoot.

But somehow every year raptors got better
And last year was the first time they stopped playing that drive and kick basketball ?
Hmmm...

Blame derozan for Having a coach who was defensive orientated but had no offensive scheme
Hmmm..

Blame derozan for JV missing easy put backs and Lowry costing stupid turnovers
In game 1 Hmmmm

Blame derozan for the coach not doubling James and forcing anybody else to hit the game winner hmmmm

That was a very candid interview. :russ: @ Rudy Gay laughing when Derozan told him he got traded to the Spurs. Man at the end of the day they got punked, swept by the Cavs with HCA. Casey had to walk the plank because his players didnt have any heart, all bets were off after that. Even in this interview he on some "the bogeyman is gone so here's our chance" shyt, they never wanted to take down the best.
Yeah I couldn't believe he said that shyt.. That was so disappointing. You can't have a dude that says shyt like that be your star and team leader. :why:

American media so condoscending

They feel like these dumb Canadians should be content with playoff teams and second round exits

fukk that, it's not the 2000s anymore.

Finals or bust. That was the goal last year. And that's the goal this year.

We're not settling for mediocrity

Crazy but true: The Raptors have had a better net rating with Derozan on the bench for 5 straight seasons

I also looked at the on/off numbers of all the other "star" players in the NBA, and none of them came close to this feat.

Either Derozan is the victim of an extraordinary set of circumstances with lineups, etc... or he's not nearly as impactful of a player as people think.

'12-'13: On: -2.0 Off: -0.1

'13-'14: On: +3.7 Off: +3.9

'14-'15: On: +3.0 Off: +3.8

'15-'16: On: +3.1 Off: +9.1

'16-'17: On: +3.0 Off: +7.7

the thing is, Casey knew Kyle was their best player the whole time. It was so funny to hear after games in pressers Casey referring to Kyle as their best player.

Kyle literally burned himself out every single season carrying Demar, leading the league in minutes until Masai built a team that protected Kyle from having to kill himself in regular season games for them to win.

Dog you can come up with a better rebuttal than that. I referenced five years and you referenced one game.

Funny thing is in that one game, which I attended in person, you’ll notice that our offence completely stalled once Derozan became the ball handler in the 4th quarter and overtime. And guess who scored our first FG in that overtime period? Kyle Lowry.

And if you were paying attention, JV has consistently been our best playoff player for the last three years. But u rather come in here with ur bullshyt argument and your memes when u don’t know shyt about the Raptors team or Derozan’s performance here as the “team leader.”

DeRozan was a net negative in 8 of his 9 seasons here and every playoff run....

I Don’t Even Think He Cared About Toronto Like That, I Think He Was Content Being The Big Fish In Toronto

Knowing If He Stays There Forever He’ll Be The Franchise Leading Scorer And Get A Jersey Hung And That’s Good Enough For Him Cause That Will Make Him Appear Great

LOL @ NBA Players Saying “He Needs A Statue In Toronto!” For What? Just Being There A Long Time? That’s Exactly The Kinda shyt He Was Hoping For

there is a lot of trashing of dude going on in here which again proves NBA players are damned if they do/dont. here is a guy who embraced an organization that cant get free agents. I really doubt Kahwi signs there, there are better opportunities for him East and West. he was wanted to be a Raptor forever. yes, its a business but he was the best player in their history and he committed to them so you have to think this could hurt the Raptors down the line.

I dont think he is hurt so much about the trade but about the lack of communication. To be fair though, Toronto just found out a couple of weeks ago they would even be a serious threat to land Kawhi....its been Boston and Philly talk up to that point....but Masai shouldve been talking to him telling him they he is involved in talks. I get it....Masai didnt want to spill it because if the deal goes through then you have a player that feels unappreciated and now he may want out just because of that. So it was not an easy way to do this on Toronto's behalf.

As far as Demar improving...he can. Casey babied him on defense, he wont be babied in SA. Also he will be working with Chip Engelland so his shot will improve. He should have a chip on his shoulder for sure now and I think the Spurs have a better team around him for the most part.

As far as the Bron statment. It was a bad look to say it, but its the absolute truth. No one has beaten Bron in the East in 8 years. So its not just Demar. Lebron is the reason why East All Stars get traded. Butler, PG13, Millsap, Demar, etc...That Hawks team had 4 All Stars that year and Bron made em break that whole team up. He shouldve never said that because you dont get a trophy for beating Lebron.

The Raptors arent going to win anything, they just arent because the NBA is still about relationships. They fire the COY and then trade their most loyal player. I am not saying they are wrong for any of this but they are taking serious gamble that this is going to work out and the odds are stacked highly against it. Demar's agent could put Toronto towards the bottom of his list in terms of shopping his clients to.

Youre overstating all this,if they win 60 games and go the finals or even ECF nobody will care a year from now...Its being overstated by the media how hard done by DeRozan was in this trade....Masai made a standard deal and hes just mad and in his feelings because i think hes realized he may not be an all star anymore, hes a smaller fish going to San Antonio....

But the disloyal backlash stuff is exaggerated....He traded him,he told him before it was about to happen by phone, standard procedure...

Blake Griffin found out he was going to Detroit via social media and NOBODY in the media ever said shyt about that...Its being magnified and falsely reported Ujiri committed a foul here because its the Raptors and in general the US media wants to downplay and ridicule the Raptors any chance they get because they dont want star players coming here....

If i was Masai first thing id be tellin Kawhi is how the US media (Fox Sports,ESPN) is trying to manipulate him into disliking and hating the Raptors because they want to see him land in LA next year without having any sources...keep beating that drum, keep telling him the media dont respect you or ur opinions and are trying to drive a wedge between your camp and us...
