After reading the thread I think you all have it wrong. The only way this could help all teams involved is like this:

Lakers: Cousins/whatever from the magic necessary to make the money make sense

Kings: #2/Vucci

Magic: #6/Randle

The Kings get Vucci as a band-aid for giving up Cousins and then can do whatever they feel necessary for the pick, possibly take Okafor.

Magic get Randle to add to their depth, and they keep their pick to do whatever they please with it. The Magic walk away with a NICE young core. Also adding the Kings pick to do whatever they want

Lakers get the new star in Cousins, and become a free agent destination, probably resulting in bringing in Lawson and using their abundant cap space for a better bench.
:russ: @ the thought of the Magic giving up Vucci for Randle.

They'll have the #5 and the #6 pick to add to their depth plus Randle.

You realize that they get 3 players that can all potentially be all-stars later down the road, and give up only one.

That's who the Lakers should end up with.

Giving away #2, Randle, Clarkson for Cuz would be beyond idiotic and set the franchise back even further.

Yeah I don't think Cousins is all that dominant a player..If you're talking about a franchise changing player yeah if do it but Cousins isn't that type of player

I think Okafor will be a more efficient player then Cousins

This is my point I love his game and attitude but he's not a game changer for me.

You don't think Cousins isn't a franchise-changing player? He's the most dominant low post player in the league, has shooting touch from mid and can pass his ass off at the 5. He's the second best big in the league behind AD, and you can plug him into any offense because he's so versatile on offense. If Kobe's playing at an all-star level this move will get the Lakers in the playoffs

Thats not enough for Cousins.

Yeah it is. Cousins and some other scrub to make it work.

Cousins is not some once in a generational talent and neither is Okafor. You're trading a proven offensive threat and headcase that's plagued your team for a guy in Okafor with a similar skillset but maybe more coachable and equally inept on defense.

Cousins is pretty good at drawing charges and he's tough, but he's not a stopgap in the middle so honestly it wouldn't be the most retarded thing in the world to dump cousins on a team with a guy like Kobe that can maybe coach him up.

How many wins has Cousins got his team? Have they made the playoffs even once? Usually franchise changing players can do that even if they don't win a championship. Cousins is an all-star level player but not franchise playing. He's not worth it to give up that much for him.

You think Cuz will be the reason why free agents come??

I'd rather keep Randle and the 2nd pick

Magic make out like bandits. They get 6 pick w/o giving up their 5th pick while getting Randle who could end up having a better career than Vucci.

Sh!tty trade for the Lakers.
