Great comments on Reddit:

DaRealism (u/DaRealism) - Reddit

These comments are quite telling. The fact that we see people in here who are trying so ardently to dismiss this movement is not surprising to me in the least. For a while now I have been saying that this sub has been populated by actors who do not have the interest of the American Negro at heart. Anytime someone makes a post about an idea or movement or action etc that could have actual concrete beneficial effects for the African American DOS we see an outcropping pf vociferous detractors. It always seems to be a few voices who pop up again and again Time After Time. Since I first noticed this some have left the sub and some still remain. It's a goddamn shame. Nonetheless, allow me to throw in my two cents for the sake of visibility even though I know, ostensibly, support for my view will be lacking.

This boils down to something I've been saying ADOS need to do for a while and that is establish nationhood. Only thing is I've chosen the term American Negro as the formal identifier of my people as opposed to ADOS.

The notion, though, is the same.

I like American Negro because the term Negro has the ability to link beyond what ADOS does. We could include all Transatlantic DOS under the mantle of Negro and distinguish them easily ie American Negro, Brazilian Negro, Haitian Negro, etc. We could then form a Negro block (panel, council, whatever) within the African Union (because they are PanAfricanist, right?) to ensure we have sufficient representation within that organization once we start joining into it.

But back to the issue at hand.

It is obvious, as others have stated, why some sort of group identifier for our people's is necessary. Short answer: Reparations. Every time an Immigrant comes to America and does well it subverts the notion that oppression against minorities exists. Furthermore, you can best believe that when reparations becomes a discussion again it's opponents will be using the achievements of our Nigerian, Ghanaian, etc brothers and sisters to assert that African Americans are doing well enough to not warrant reparations. They will try to obfuscate the distinction to dismiss justice and while that wont hurt those who immigrated it will be another chapter in a centuries long saga of gross injustice for the American Negro.

Someone in here even had the audacity to use that same bullshyt "they should be thankful" line these ignorant whites, that none of us here have respect for, use. Smh

On the other hand though, I can see why the Africans may trip. I mean, y'all African. All we need to get rid of y'all is a change in policy and just like that you are locked out of the world's ATM and that can be scary. So it behooves you to align yourself with the only Black people on the planet whose human rights would have to be violated to be kicked out of America. I get it. But be mindful of how you do that. Don't try to deny us our identity just to fortify your opportunity.

Donald Trump is in office. Black people are tired of the Democratic party and Black conservatives are becoming more and more vocal. Regardless of which side you agree with the rise of Black conservatism is a real thing right now and Republicans don't like immigrants. So, if I were an African Immigrant in America I would give that some thought before alienating the American Negro; regardless of why you are doing it or what you may intend.

The American Negro has been hurt many, many times before and, as a result, whenever we see something that appears as though it doesn't want the best for us we lash out. At this point it is very much so an emotional response.

Don't position yourselves to be the victim of such a misunderstanding.

Here are Reddit threads:

Black Immigrants and PanAfricanism -- are the main Anti-ADOS.

Here is a Pro-ADOS comment thankfully...

I want all the lurkers and contributors here who don’t have a side in this battle to see just exactly who keeps posting anti-ados materials, calling us hoteps, fukkboys and all the rest.

Examine their history and see exactly who’s best interests they’re looking out for. Check their comments and see who’s using inflammatory language and name-calling. It’s the same cast of characters. They’ll downvote this comment too but that’s of little concern.

The point is, it’s really obvious that there’s a unit of provocateurs here in the “BlackFellas” subreddit that concern-trolls any issue specific to ADOS people but after a couple comments back and forth their true colors begin to show and that’s when the hoteps, c00ns, fukkboys and other slurs come out and their hate for black Americans becomes unmistakable.

That subreddit being called /r/blackfellas is hysterical.

I wouldn’t include Warren with the rest of them, just yet. She isn’t as tone deaf on AADOS as you may believe. :patrice:

No Warren is in that category. She was a conservative in the 80s, people forget that. But besides that her main argument/policy is about classism isn't it? Who else had that same policy? Bernie Sanders. Bernie who is against Black people getting reparations because according to him its "too divisive". So if Bernie who is a male version of Warren basically believes that its not a stretch to see her feeling the same way. Those super liberals are often the most racist

Like I said, Ann Coulter getting a hold of this was a bad thing. :francis: Having a mainstream far right troll like Coulter state that she supports your movement is not the way you want #AmericanDOS to be presented to the mainstream audience. You better believe the right wingers are going to exploit this and now the mainstream news outlets can either say the movement's roots are in Russia :duck: or it's been co-opted by Russia :duck::duck: to people who are hearing about it for the first time. You know they're not going to have Yvette or Tone on CNN, NBC, CBS, or ABC to talk about #ADOS. It's Antonio's and Yvette's movement but they should've rejected Ann's endorsement the moment she tweeted "support". :hubie:

Black immigrants are labeling ADOS as:

edited 4 days ago

I doubt he knows there's a hotep and anti-immigrant movement called 'ADOS'. You're just reposting what black people have been saying for decades, but c00ns think they're slick by rebranding toxic masculinity and anti-black xenophobia as a reparations cause.

I agree.

But, nothing is going to stop us.

So, they (anti-ados people) better prepare.

Bernie and Warren aren’t the same on matters of race. Again, she’s not as tone deaf as he is. Trump was a Democrat before he ran as a Republican, so Warren’s registration as a Republican in the 80’s isn’t relevant to a discussion if her present campaign. :francis:
