Republicans have the votes this bill is going to pass eventually regardless, the only fight were looking at is Fiscal conservatism versus government programs. This is a fight over the debt not a fight over saving basic government programs. This is why the dems being a weak opposition party is the actual issue, the fact that we have some coping and hoping elon tanks the bill says a lot
