It

It is. Ezra wants us to throw civil rights under the bus

To be fair, that's not exactly what he's saying. Ezra is arguing that we need to expand our coalition, that we need to get more comfortable having Democratic Senators/Representatives who are not in lock step with us on all issues. That we need to win in more places.

He accurately points out that as much as we might have disliked Joe Manchin, Manchin was winning in West Virginia long after any Dem should have had a shot. And he accurately points out that Manchin voted for most of the important legislation and the judges that were confirmed during the Biden Presidency.

Ezra is not necessarily arguing that we need to move more left or more to the center, he is just arguing that we need to win in more places.

You can rightly argue that Democrats need to win in more places — that’s a strategic reality. But that doesn’t require conceding that the party has “gone too far left” on race or education. If the idea behind coalition expansion is that we must throw civil rights under the bus, sanitize history to appease discomfort, or echo Republican talking points — like portraying Christopher Columbus as merely a misunderstood figure of his time, suppressing the teaching of slavery in schools, or labeling the Smithsonian’s historical exhibits as “too left” — then let’s be honest: those voters will just vote Republican anyway.

Winning broader support shouldn’t mean abandoning core values. It should mean communicating them more effectively, showing how equity and truth-telling strengthen the country, not divide it. If we dilute the message to chase voters who fundamentally oppose those principles, we risk losing both our moral compass and the base that actually believes in progress which was also Ta-Nehisi Coates argument against this logic.

Democrats just gotta stop listening to coastal white women and reading them white man books aka progressives. They ran women for prez n lost BOTH times to a reality show host with dementia. The one time they told the progressives to shut up and ran a regular democrat male, guess what? They won. It’s simple: Stop letting progressives have a say.

I was talking about Sam because he’s obsessed with Ezra due to what I said. Not that hard to figure out.
Obsessed? Ezra is one of the most respected consultants by the establishment whose peddling bullshyt. He should be called out, our party respects him.
