I see the value of a Joe Manchin because I think it is important for Dems to be able to win in local regions/states, but we also need Presidents who have the ability to use the bully pulpit the way LBJ did. He should have used his capital to go after Sinema and Manchin for blocking his agenda.

Some people are right to be skeptical of Platner. I am too. But I can't shake the feeling that others just see an opportunity to go after someone who doesn't fit their "moderate" mold, especially since he's an insurgent candidate gaining momentum outside the party. It's funny how none of this energy was there for George Latimer when he ran a blatantly racist campaign to oust Jamaal Bowman. The party had no problem lining up behind him.

They also let in some colorism when Wesley Bell beat Cori Bush.
