Maine hasn’t voted for a Republican since 1988. The governor is a Democrat. Susan Collins is a Republican but a very soft R, the other senator an independent who caucuses with the Dems . Both Representatives are democrats.

Maine is your typical northeastern state only slightly more conservative than its neighbors New Hampshire and Vermont. Overwhelming white. So progressive policies are easier to push when there is not chance they might benefit a Black person.
Consorting with Trumpers over your similar love of guns and German history might work there but it remains to be seen if you are going to sell that brand of politics in North Carolina or Georgia where there are actual minorities who remember segregation.
