you really going to judge her on something that happened 25 years ago? cmon b since then she's been a senator and secy of state.
Me brining up something that happened 25 years ago answers your question directly though. You believe that Clinton would be able to pass more legislation. That advantage can be attacked multiple ways:
- Bernie has been a senator much longer than Clinton and has faced the same opposition and passed more bills.
- As Bernie stated, he was on the committee that wrote the ACA and was able to get it passed
- Republicans privately and publicly were vehemently against and willing to tank the country over Bill Clinton's healthcare bill - which Hillary led.
The last point is important for two reasons.
- Prior to the ACA, Bill Clintons bill was the last time Republicans were willing to tank the country via No votes. One candidate on the stage succeeded in passing a healthcare bill.
- Aside from Obama, there is no one in Washington that is hated more than Hillary. And that's been consistent for 25 fukkn years....so stop this false belief that she's going to bring the parties together. Did you not see the Benghazi hearings? Did you not see the email controversy? What makes you think the way those issues have played out in the public won't happen with congressional legislation?
We just really need to start being honest about the way she's perceived.
Only people who aren't likable have to deal with rumors about their likability.
obama came into this thing wayyy too idealistic. plus he had other factors going against him....my breh spent 2 years on bullshyt like birth certificates and death panels. obama also made other mistakes like shunning the liberal media and congress dems....it was basically him, valerie jarrett, and handful of other confidants. he was way too closed off. if he played the game better, he'd gotten way more support from the media when the republicans were lying about every damn thing about that healthcare bill....obama got sloppy with the message too many times during his presidency. the clintons are insiders, which means they have more friends in congress, more friends in the media (to control the message), and she'll assemble a vet staff that will cut deals and get shyt done. i know they at war right now, but she WILL get her honeymoon period just like Obama. having a woman being sworn into office is going to be a moving moment in this country. she will be able to walk on water initially and during that time (unlike obama who deferred to congress on a lot of issues) i see her coming in with a plan and ready to pull the 'sexism card' if the rethugs get too rough. honestly dont see her getting bullied by the rethugs as much as obama has during his presidency. she already has the advantage of having paul ryan instead of Boehner for SOH.
He did come into this idealistic, but that was his fault as much as it was yours (if you voted for him). In my opinion Obama has done a great job navigating Washington with Clinton's ex staff. However we can't keep shutting down progressive ideas. Clinton is a ridiculously smart woman. She would do wonders as President. But her election, and the way the Democratic Party is going about this election will and has hurt them.
We need to realize, that at a time when voter ID laws are being passed across this country, at a time when gains in the civil rights act are being stripped by courts, at a time when money is being funneled into elections without oversight, anything that isn't geared toward mobilizing the people is an abject failure. There are only 3 fukkn candidates that "qualified" to run for the Democratic Nomination our of 320 million citizens. Three. When midterms role back around and democrats stay home and get fat on their couches, just look back at this moment and realize that support for the future of our country was so great, that only 3 people in the nation could garner support.
Is this election about the people or Hilary Clinton's fukkn legacy?
