You're talking about the amount of tax revenue and authority? See this is the shyt we're talking about....

Flint, MI is currently dealing with lead poisoning because of shytty infrastructure (there goes your tax revenue argument). I'm positive their public health department is understaffed, overworked, and working on a terrible budget. I'm also positive that their public health office has had their authority stripped because of the "cost to businesses" necessary to keep us safe. I say this because at the federal level this is seen every year.

Do you realize that the bureaucratic log jam is in part because of leadership that shares your views about the roles and responsibilities of the government? Think about the impact the lack of leadership from the top down in Michigan has had and will have on the lives of children in Flint.

Don't fukkn jump in threads like this complaining about government overstepping their boundaries, then complain when people that share your vision for government don't step up to the plate and take a proactive stance on public health concerns or criminal justice issues.
right, how convenient that when the government fukked up in Flint, it wasn't their fault :beli:

come on man, that's a tired argument :snooze:

i'm not saying the private sector is perfect, or that the government is perfect
i think there needs to be a solid balance, but what bernie is suggesting is messing with that balance too much on the government side

Martin O'Malley looks like a type of politician that's gonna a have a scandal/affair in a few years, I have a feeling he's gonna put John Edwards to shame.

Lincoln Chafee on the other hand never had a scandal and never will.

well considering i'm not an anarchist, obviously the government needs to meet that need

i'm not arguing against government, im arguing for a smaller more efficient, more isolationist (i.e stop launching wars) government that can spend the money we already give them and not just put their hand out for more

the FED isn't on the hook for Flint breh....

Flint is based on inept state and local government. Flint is a perfect example of what happens when your electorate has no fukking clue or involvement in its local destiny. The city government was rendered vestigal because of the appointment of the Emergency Manager. To put that on the fed and say that it needs to be smaller is silly. In fact, if the fed was MORE involved Flint would have never happened.

Omalley looks like an actor thats been typecasted as the president for the last 20 years.

I've always said if O'Malley just copied everything Bernie said he'd win the Dem Nod with 80%.

He needs time. He's obviously holding back because he still needs to establish himself with the base. He needs to create his identity so he can't go ranting mad about shyt the way Bernie does. When Bernie does it, folks will say he's passionate. If Martin does it, it'll come off forced and that will be the lasting vision folks have of him.

Wow that is pretty impressive.

Though I don't know why he would side step saying no to the draft. shyt like that is why I don't trust O'Malley. I feel he's playing the progressive niche to position himself as a VP/to be on the stage. But I don't think he's ready to be a social and political disruptor.
