This is what I’ve been saying, The face of DEI are black people but the biggest benefactors are white women…hell Indians been killin it too.

Trumps cabinet will be white because he fought against DEI hires.

Thry think being black calls into question your competence.

This is the digestible out in the open racism we see today.

Now you have white people thinking they aren’t getting jobs because they’re white, when thryre really just not good enough.

I will say that DEI has opened the door for more black resumes to be seen. There is no question about that, but the overwhelming majority who advance from it are white women and gays.

People think unqualified black folk are getting jobs. Where did that come from? As you said, white women and gays (white) are the biggest beneficiaries but blacks folk are the face. That is dad!

DEI programs gave black people a level of privilege that cacs have been enjoying for decades, the reason for all this push back is obvious
I know people personally , including a family member, that got 6 figure opportunities mainly on the strength of DEI programs that put them in positions they probably wouldn't have had otherwise
People on the right have successfully pushed the narrative that people who get into recruiting pipelines due to DEI somehow aren't qualified. Now you have other minorities like Indians and east asians fighting against the 5% of black people in any given corporation benefitting from it on a high level instead of the majority of un(der) qualified cacs who get into through nepotism, references, and having priority in traditional recruiting pipelines

We have to keep in mind that DEI programs have helped the black community even if white woman benefit the most. Some people don't seem to comprehend that.

It's not about 'underqualified' people. Trump's cabinet is gonna be full of under qualified people. Under qualified people have been getting hook ups since employment has been a thing.

It's always been about Black people (and other nonwhites to a lesser extent) getting something that whites think they alone deserve.

On the meta, don't these folks ever get tired of "speaking truth to power"?

Folks like this, and many others, really think that explaining the obvious will somehow convince the "skeptical".

Like if y'all keep yelling at the "both siders" on here - somehow they'll change their minds. Like there's some bit of "evidence" or "logic" or "proof" that will make them understand?

Are the blacks that are hired unqualified?

DEI reminds me of the roooney rule in the NFL

How do you know that it doesn't convince people

Quoted for emphasis.

White mediocrity has been rewarded since forever, but Black folks have to be exceptional and if it wasn’t for DEI a lot of Black folks would never get a chance in markets dominated by people that don’t look like us.

A lot of White women and Asians are beneficiaries of DEI as well, but it’s not talked about like somehow Black folks that White people want to “perceive” to be unqualified are the face of it.

H.R. 8706, the Dismantle DEI Act, Rep

Rep Lee was voting against and speaking out, on the record, against a newly introduced bill. As she should, and as she does against other proposed legislation that she disagrees with.
Win, lose, or draw officials have to use their positions and platforms to criticize & vote against this stuff. And more importantly lobby others to speak/vote against it.

The discussions here are meaningless compared to what members of Congress are discussing and voting for/against.
