Question, do Democrats and Republicans have the same approach to DEI? Secondly, is this something that matters to you as a black man or woman in this country?
This is what I’ve been saying, The face of DEI are black people but the biggest benefactors are white women and gays.
I will say that DEI has opened the door for more black resumes to be seen. There is no question about that, but the overwhelming majority who advance from it are white women and gays.
We have to keep in mind that DEI programs have helped the black community even if white woman benefit the most. Some people don't seem to comprehend that.DEI programs gave black people a level of privilege that cacs have been enjoying for decades, the reason for all this push back is obvious
I know people personally , including a family member, that got 6 figure opportunities mainly on the strength of DEI programs that put them in positions they probably wouldn't have had otherwise
People on the right have successfully pushed the narrative that people who get into recruiting pipelines due to DEI somehow aren't qualified. Now you have other minorities like Indians and east asians fighting against the 5% of black people in any given corporation benefitting from it on a high level instead of the majority of un(der) qualified cacs who get into through nepotism, references, and having priority in traditional recruiting pipelines
ThreadIt's not about 'underqualified' people. Trump's cabinet is gonna be full of under qualified people. Under qualified people have been getting hook ups since employment has been a thing.
It's always been about Black people (and other nonwhites to a lesser extent) getting something that whites think they alone deserve.

On the meta, don't these folks ever get tired of "speaking truth to power"?
Folks like this, and many others, really think that explaining the obvious will somehow convince the "skeptical".
Like if y'all keep yelling at the "both siders" on here - somehow they'll change their minds. Like there's some bit of "evidence" or "logic" or "proof" that will make them understand?
