It was worse because anytime they were asked “do you mean get rid of police” then it became “well we really mean we want to allocate resources and come up with other types of policing etc etc"

They use clever word salad to mask their true intentions in order to win elections and then when it comes time for an evaluation of the situation on the ground, people are looking around like WTF have you done and you know who gets blamed? That's right, not the candidates THE PARTY.
