This really falls on the country and culture of the united states: How do you appeal to a working class that looks down on other working class/poor people especially in regards to any attempts of significant or necessary welfare.

People say the working class love economic populism, and yet they always vote for the moderate/centrist types who harp on austerity; outside of the good folks on the East and West Coast it's a different ball game entirely.

Just accept the fact the best this country has to offer is another Bill Clinton/Obama type and KIM.

:yeshrug:Any grown adult that cannot see that the Democraats are better economic policy wise, now, will not get the picture no matter what you do

I am someone that doesnt jive with the gender extracariculars.

I also that believe that government should be small by reducing the police state presence as well as ensuring that the government gives opportunity instead of cash.

I am also someone who isnt a complete moron and knows how to conduct cost benefit analysis .

if a grown adult votes republican, the only way you convince them otherwise is by putting them in the ground.

Cost benefit analysis is the key to being a mature functioning adult

This is a fact. The centrism is how we ended up here and the big money is why people think progressivism doesn’t work. Big money can afford to make it not work.
the democrats wrote that :skip:
Which would stand to reason why it won’t work :russ: This stupid ass “Be normal” shyt is a slick ass way to say appeal more to rural and suburban whites. Throw LGBTQ people and minorities in the bushes, accept that helping anyone not white is bad, and be Republicans without the meanness. They were not completely lost in the sauce before Trump won again but this would be nail in the coffin status. You cant out Republican the Republicans.

If identity politics is #1, whoever wrote that hasn’t learned shyt about politics
This. The Republicans literally win on identity politics. You have to go back decades to find them actually running on economics in a way that helped everyone.

Identity politics is what go Trump elected, twice. They're still acting like maga is just a catchy phrase.

When the dems take back the house, it won't have anything to with the dems fixing their issues. It'll be because Trump fukked up so bad he made voters ran away. That's exactly what happened in 2020. Biden didn't when the election, Trump lost.

They still don't know what the problem is. I get how ignoring your non-rich base is what Dems do, but their overt right-wing pivot won't work of they ignore right-wing voters. You won't get the maga vote if you ignore what maga is saying. Start by listening to the lies Trump sells his cultists.

Who's KIM?

Sad thing is that America has already said that they want and approve of UBI. Just without the Covid. And somehow Dems can't sell that with the advent and proliferation of AI.

Sad. :francis:

I maintain most of this doesn't matter because the economy will sweep democrats back in office as Trump actively destroys the economy (again). That being said...it's almost like a decade of liberal (and leftist) activists taking over all the congressional and progressive group aide jobs has led to bad politics and bad optics. This was obvious in 2020 during the primaries when nearly every candidate on stage during the democrat primary debates was shytting on Obama. Who, btw, was at around 60% approval at the time. And remains the most popular politician in the country btw.

Too many purple haired weirdos told you Obama was bad while offering insane alternatives. Obama maintained border security while being EXTREMELY popular with Hispanics. He had no issue compromising when it was time to do so. He was normal. And the majority of the country supported him. So why did we go from that to letting 27 year old grad students tell us we need to appeal to Hispanics by creating new words (latinx), among other nonsense.

A normal democrat is going to be the nominee in 2028. You already see the push to sideline the advocacy groups and prevent candidates from signing insane pledges. Whether it's Shapiro or Brashears or Walz or someone we don't know yet. And assuming Trump continues to implode this country with tariffs while dismantling government functions that normal white people rely on? I'd expect a dem to win the WH.
