Most people on this board oppose the right to bear arms.
OP is not wrong and the fact that our community has fallen asleep the past few decades, giving Democrats our votes without demanding that they stop undermining the right to bear arms, has now created a situation where a large plurality or a majority of our people living in urban areas are utterly defenseless against our enemies and people in our communities engaging in criminal activities.

I think it would end if Democrats/liberals would stop running on restricting and undermining the right to bear arms for people who aren't even mentally ill or criminally violent.
As a gun owner I see no issue with many of the so called "take your guns restrictions."
- Background checks
- Closing up the gun show loopholes
- Classroom requirements for Concelead carry permits
- Permits for pistol purchases
- The limitation of certain high capacity magazines.
- Mental health guidelines

- Background checks

Please enlighten me, what is the gun show loophole? And what gun store in America can you walk into and buya gun without a background check?
Gun show loophole are these freakish places where hundreds, if not thousands of legit and not so legit arms dealers and gun enthusiasts go to purchase and share firearms. You can attend a gun show and buy guns without a background check, license, waiting period, just cash in hand. A friend of mine, who has NONE of these, (besides cash in hand) and no business with two AR-15's, ended up with two AR-15's this exact way. Thankfully, he has sold those again, and I wouldn't say he's dangerous, or a threat to anyone, besides who own well being, but if he can have two AR's in the backseat, riding around, it stands to reason far worse, more dangerous people can and do buy weapons. Look at the Aurora shooting, the San Bernadino shooting, all these killings everyday.

Here's the thing. All the mass shooting that gets Dem's frothing at the mouth and climbing over the bodies of the dead to beat their chest about gun control...More times than not are done with legally purchased guns where the shooter went through a background check. Yes a private party can sell a gun to another private part (in most places) but to just throw "gun show loophole" out there without pointing out the fact that the folks that have tables set up from a shop do have to perform background checks is a well crafted lie by the left. Those sales where it's person to person happen everywhere, not just gun shows.
You don't need a permit/bacground check for a shotgun or a long gun if you've already purchased a weapon with a permit previously.
Re'up hit on the gun show
I can drive down the road and purchase a rifle from Blackstone without a background check right now.
