Basically..
The Post Office has more reach to certain areas/area codes..
Rural/Suburban areas..
That the other competitors don’t..
Have access to..
Or..
The shipping is too cheap..
Take for instance ground shipping that is free..
Target is notorious for this..
Ups/Fedex will drop off trailers of these packages in the afternoon..
Amazon pays pennies on the dollar..
Delivering through the postal service..
That’s mainly one reason Fedex said fukk it with them..
Amazon does deliver in some areas..
So some PO only see big packages..
But in more rural areas/suburban areas..
They send pallets of that shyt for the PO to deliver..
Another reason for that is Amazon..
Doesn’t want to pay their employees..
Or..
Accidents some of their employees have
Even though the USPS..
Turns a profit..
Two things screwed us..
Pre-funded retirements..
The contracts we have with so called”competition”..
So if we do go under for a short duration..
That free shipping gon end..
And if you think shipping delays..
Are bad now

The Post Office was always a “equalizer”..
In wealth for our community..
I know some carriers that pulled in 6 figures..
For the past 5 years just because of OT..
Living very good and high off the hog..
Able to send kids to college, have side hustles, etc..
But I don’t know right now..
Mail volume is down to an extent but packages are booming..
The PO does need some restructuring..
And that death nail the Republicans did with pre-funding retirements for people that aren’t even born
Needs to cease and desist..
But this Rona is fukking up a lot of things..

On some g shyt to really get the economy back to the way it was before the pandemic the govt is gonna have to spend at least $10 trillion in stimulus to revive it. And this is one way. If they can spend trillions in Iraq,Afghanistan and the rest of the Middle East in the endless war in terror they can send 2 bands a month for most Americans. They also have to give aid to the states because they are seeing revenue dropping all over the country. NYC is already $8 billion in the hole right now. If the city don’t get aid there will be mass layoffs and pay cuts which would be devastating for us. And another idea to boost the economy is a $6 trillion Infrastructure bill. And there has to be more aid for small businesses. The PPP was a fiasco. Those buisnessess need more aid if not shyt will be a disaster 6-8 months after we open up.

I tend to agree. What I would do is extend CARES for 6 months. Then work on a MASSIVE infrastructure/employment bill. We piss and moan on both sides about infrastructure. You nab all these folks and retrain them into infrastructure/clean energy jobs we could be looking at another "Great Society" style boom if it was accepted wholly.

I feel you....and I'm 1000% for reparations. But I wouldn't want it in just a check.

We'd need checks PLUS elimination of all of federal student debt, free public college, exemption from selective service and portions of all federally owned land.

I dont think this will get passed either but there is no way in hell they expect a 1200 check to hold people over for months.
