Rodman must be hitting the pipe saying dumb shyt like this. Lebron has a football players body and very few guys were built like him back then. If he would of said that about durant I could maybe see it but lebron would still be dominant back then

Lebron wouldn't be average, but it would take more for him to be considered an all-time great. The young people sh!t on the 80's-90's ball, but you cannot deny that the 90s (the greatest era of sports BTW), had relatively the same athleticism of today with better fundamentals. Players 1-12 could contribute; your backups were solid-good players. There was better competition. Jordan had to go through 15-20 HOFers to get his rings. This era where he virtually has no peers (3 of the top 5 players from his draft play on the same team), he is still putting up stats that we've seen before.

Take a look at Lebron's game. His game is quick bully ball but first, handchecking would have him working harder to get to his spots. There were also shotblockers ready to meet him at the rim, so that dunking on everyone or contorting your body mid air to avoid the charge would reduce. He has to adjust his game, but I don't know if he really wants to do that. He is playing the same role in Miami that he is in Cleveland; he should be playing off the ball more by now.

His game still has flaws. His post game is still not where you can consider him lethal. He's either gonna pass or face up and try to go around you. If he adds a turn-around jumpshot, fade-away, jump hook or even a better blind side passing game, then that is lethal.

Oscar Robertson averaged a triple double for a season, and damn near close for a couple of others, and even he isn't considered Top 5. Lebron has about 7 more than Grant Hill who stopped playing more than a decade ago.

:snoop:

if you take a guy from this era and plug him into the 70's that means he no longer has the same technology and workout regimens of today. He no longer has supplements and shyt like HGH (not saying LeBron is on HGH..)

If you take a guy from the 70's and plug him into this era he does grow up with the same technology, he's no longer riding shytty buses to games, sleeping in shytty hotels, smokin, drinkin all the time, etc. He is going to take care of his body.

You dumb nikkas in these comparison threads forget the simplest shyt :heh:

He wouldn't be "average" but i don't see him being top 5, maybe not even 10.

agreed

:childplease:How do you know this?

Also, why are you people getting upset over other peoples opinion?

Noone is getting upset sir...We are conversing about sports...Its what men do.

Have you ever seen Jr Rider play??....The league right now is tailor made for anybody who can get to the rim and has athleticism.....he would :eat: well

See these older cats still hating on Bron for some reason. I've looked at b-ball since the late 80's early 90's and witnessing this current era, there is no doubt in my mind Bron would be a great player even back then. Everyone talks about people guarding him and whatnot but Rodman hadn't seen a player of Bron's size athleticism and skill during those days. Someone as big as Malone and quick as Jordan or very close. Bron would have had his struggles but he would have adjusted as all great players do. With talent like his he would have shined in any era.

You'd have to be ambitiously delusional to believe that Lebron James would be anything but more dominant than he is today in 1980s NBA. Ask the Wizards Pacers and Bulls about players with Rick Mahorn level talent "putting their body on" Lebron affecting his game. Though this era had a couple of rim protectors better than those of today. It's just that, a couple. It would be a Lebron James feast on the significantly weaker wings and prehistoric team defenses.

The 80s defense is no where near as tough as today era's defense. In the past, the perimeter was wide open for any player to run through to the paint and get an easy lay-up without facing half-court traps and full-court press. I have seen old games of Nique work his way into the paint without dealing with any barriers from the perimeter. If you grew up watching MJ in the 90s then you would remember how poorly the Sun defended Jordan. No disrespect to the GOAT, but he had an easy route to the basket because the Sun didn't apply any pressure on him on the perimeter.

The 90s was an iso era; therefore, teams weren't allowed to play zone and they didn't double team an elite scorer before the inbound pass. That era had some players that weren't athletic and weren't physically built like Lebron , but they successfully scored 20 pts a game. Also, a little man like Iverson scored at will with his speed and nobody couldn't stop him from attacking the paint, and he did this in an era when big men used to dominate the game. Iverson turned any player who defended him into food.

You have to be a moron to believe that Lebron wouldn't dominate in any era. Lebron who have put more up points in the "No Defense" era and in the 90s he would score just as much as MJ because there weren't many players in the wing who were athletic that can keep up with the King.

Some of you who undermined Lebron on his ability to perform in any era don't even think before you type a single word; you guys are nothing but haters who doesn't appreciate and respect a great player who is forming his own lane. Let the King live and get off his dikk

Why do all these past NBA players go out of there way to talk about LeBron? I don't remember any other player being dissed by past players unprovoked like this.

That alone should tell you something... :umad:

If you're a great player of Jordan and Erving's ilk, with your level of pride, of course you'd downtalk the guy that's a threat to your legacy.

THIS GUY AVERAGED 26 & 13.3 FROM THE PERIMETER IN THIS WEAK ERA.
WE HAVENT SEEN THOSE NUMBERS SINCE DUNCAN'S 1ST MVP YEAR. (25.5/12.6)

I don't get the point of this:dwillhuh: Kevin Love is very skilled big who's been known in the basketball circuit since he was in high school. He relied on his IQ and skills, rather than power and athletic abilities, to score and grab rebounds.

You know James Donaldson who played for the mavs in the late 80s? He made the all-star team in 1988. He averaged 7 ppg and 9 rbg. :wtb:
