No, that wasn't his point. In context I took his statement to mean he'd get more love if he was whyte, like how Dirk is whyte. Especially being flag bearer for his country as Dirk was.. Which is valid.
I didn't take it to mean he's as good as Dirk or is deserving of the same exact level of love that Dirk gets verbatim.

Also, comparing him to Pat Bev, or even to Dirk in the NBA is totally irrelevant. Schroder has major performances in international and Olympic tournaments, which means a hell of a lot more to Germans than what he does in the NBA. He legit is a legend over there.

He should have used Kleber or Weber, people whose level he is on.
That said, my guess is that if he did you would probably find that he is more popular in Germany than Kleber and the Weber bros and that would kill the whole point he is trying to make.
