Training Day was a surprise because it was Denzel finally coming out of his typical zone. Up until then,we were so used to him playing mostly straight, good guy characters. So to see him play an unhinged, corrupt cop like Alonzo was He knocked it out of the park.

If only Will Smith branched out like that. He probably would have finally gotten that oscar.

Range doesn't equal talent. Will Smith can pretty much do every genre effectively, he clearly demonstrates more comedic aptitude than Denzel has ever shown throughout his career

Pretty good movie.
The co-pilot was kind of irrelevant in the movie, though.

Not my favorite Denzel movie, though.
I'd probably go with Malcolm X.

Where did I say that Will is a better actor? I said he has more range. Can Will do every genre that Denzel can? Yes. Can Denzel do every genre that Will can? No. That doesn't mean Will has more talent, it means he has more range.
