This is an underutilized tactic. It’s a sales tactic too. In short, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. I, personally, like individuality and being ahead of the curve but I did emulate myself around Fabolous growing up early in life. Just a fly, cool guy.

You counter all this by being a solid dude in your own right, and surrounding yourself with other solid people. Everybody has their doubts and insecurities. What allows you to differentiate what's important from the social media escapism addiction is actually dealing with real people face to face. There is no substitute for that.

Adults want to hand off cell phones to children to get them out of the way, and are somehow surprised they're growing up to be self-indulgent navel-gazers with all these theories about social interaction when they've never truly socially interacted? How? Again, there is no substitute for the crucible that is actually dealing with people face to face. You can have all the opinions in the world, you are going nowhere fast without two things: the ability to effectively communicate your ideas/opinions, and to have them tested under real world conditions with real people. And that right there is why so many will run and hide online, because within that crucible is a bloody process that doesn't care about feelings or how much you treasure your opinions. 90%+ of those opinions will fail in the fire anyway. So the "incel" crowd will isolate themselves and bawl about the world being unfair when...the world is what it's always been. Sink or swim, adapt or die, survival of the fittest.

The bullying you pointed out is absolutely being used for a different purpose than intended. Constantly insecure people don't have the courage to form bonds that help a society last, so inevitably that's a tool of warfare. We just have to balance that with supporting each other and endure past it.

To be fair we don’t know what type of homes or environments these incel guys grow up in.
For example: some might grow up in a strict religious household where premarital sex is frowned upon
