Yea about that….

If Nola has the #1 pick, he’s coming out.
Archie already said he’s staying at least 2 years just like all of them did. They value having a lot of college starts. Plus he probably a year out anyways

dude really went out there and got himself hurt trying to super man some defenders in a meaningless game where the saints were 4-8
this really being the last play of his nfl/saints career

Arch Manning is not coming out and no one even knows how good he is. There's no guarantee the Saints will be able to draft him.

You need a QB draft one now because you don't know how the draft order will play out. They Saints messed up unless Shough is a miracle QB.

No one knows how the order will play out but they most certainly won’t be as low as #9. And if you’re talking QBs outside the 1st well those guys are always gonna be there (and typically not worth it)

Plus, what they DO know is the projected QBs for next year. It’s highly unlikely to have two weak drafts back to back. So I’d be perfectly fine with waiting til next year to draft a QB

I don’t know. We say that but who knows what the other procedure they opted not to do would’ve entailed.

Sounds like a miserable process for him to forego that $30M guarantee.

He’s grossed $200M in his career on the field alone though. So hope he’s straight.

It's like Andrew luck made so much money already that the stress, the hits etc just aren't worth it after awhile

As NFL contracts get bigger I imagine we will see guys retiring much earlier when they can still be serviceable

They didn't wait. They took a QB this draft and they also have Rattler who they still need to evaluate. If you need to draft a QB in 3 straight drafts what the hell was the GM doing?

Ron wolf, the old Packers GM, apparently used to take a QB every year. Did that even when they had Favre. They ended up drafting Mark Brunell, Aaron Brooks and Matt Hasselbeck. All guys who became multiple year starters in the NFL.
