I'm trying to imagine when Lebron, Steph, Russell, and Kevin do that long term reup :merchant:
Durant has to wait a year. He gets a $10 million(or so) a year bonus when he hits 10 years in the league next year with the new cap going up. No way he signs long term deal to then. Would cost him $50-60 million(Inflation of new cap) over 5 years if he signs this off season. He'll sign a 1-2 year contract this year at best.

Him and lebron not dumb like melo. They knew what they was doing with their contracts.

Melo a grown man, he could of told his agent he wants 1-2 year deals like all his peers were getting.. People called Wade crazy for opting out 2 years ago now hes boutta get that retirement package 2 year $60 million or some shyt in the next year or two for his last contract and ride off into the sunset $60 million richer :heh:

Do you have any experience with athletes ? YOU tell YOUR agent what you are looking for, their job is to go and get that for you.. They both cost themselves an insane amount of money by rushing it.. and hurt the team in the process :dead:

The agents job is to keep up with every detail about contract negotiation. I wouldn't expect a player to know every single by-law of the league. It's the agent's job to keep up with that. So the agent needs to be the one looking out for the player in that type of situation. The NBA sure isn't looking out for you like that. Melo probably had no idea it would be like it is now, or he didn't care and took the money. But anyway, he has it better than a lot of former players that use to be in the league. They wish they could play now.

:beli: every one of his peers knew but he didnt know :beli: and some how this is the agents fault :beli: you trying to put this on the agent, but that makes no sense because the agent would of cost himself a couple million on the deal as well since he gets a % :beli:

some yall love to blame EVERYONE but the actual players fukking up :beli: just say melo fukked up and stop defending him here, its ok man, hes not gonna hate you for it. He wont even know these comments exist.

Thats the thing, melo isnt a former player :beli: he is a current player :beli: thats getting near the same as Chandler Parsons will be making :beli:

come on breh......their agents had a clue. Players don't negotiate with the teams, agents do. Players choose from the choices that they have through the contract formed when agents meet with the team.
