Texas has one of the highest property taxes in the nation.

:scust: :what:

Yes, and that's what funds the suburban and large metropolitan school districts higher than average (for a red state) teacher's salary. I was floored when I saw teacher's in neighboring states being paid 20 to 30k less.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
wait so people thought because rich people were complaining about their tax burden in california and how it would be better in texas for them meant it applied to them too? their problems are not your problems.
They fail to realize that the middle class in Cali just complain about cost of living - not necessarily taxes lol.

How did they even calculate these numbers? The only way I can see the poor paying more in taxes is because those with a lower income could actually own a home in Texas prior to prices soaring through the roof due to everyone moving here, whereas in Cali they were long priced out of owning a home. The main tax burden in Texas comes from property taxes.

What is this Peroni guy talking about states with income tax do more to lower inequality? There might be more 'programs', but everything is so absurdly expensive that there is more poverty. Parts of California look like a 3rd world country.

You are just making things up. I’m sure Mississippi, West Virginia and Louisiana have more third world country looking parts than anywhere in Cali lmao.

Also poor places with high income taxes have more services for the poor. The poor people are practically living in these cities for free.

You ever heard the term that blue cities are for the RICH AND POOR.
