Above the fray.
Misleading title. How is opening a lounge helping to "develop" Ghana?

I give you props for your business venture and wish you continued success at it, but it's strictly commerce.

I see development in terms of schools, libraries, & business incubators.

I have family over there, by the way.

Commerce does not promote development?
Putting modern structures in your second biggest city does not constitute development?
Actually paying people for work they do no matter what it is does not help in development?

The materials are locally sourced and he is most likely using local entrepreneurs/workers. Lots of people will eat thanks to this project, even if it's for a short time.

Commerce is indeed a key component of development, and that's coming from a "leftist/statist" as myself :pachaha:

Anyways good job breh. As long as you're investing in Africa and paying local population fairly you're doing your part.

It's development.....................of a secondary income stream for you.

. I'm glad that you are able to employ local people to build the structure and to work there once it's up . I see it as a smart business move by you and hopefully you make your investment back and start seeing returns soon.

If you are Ghanaian, I think you know what I mean by development and why I don't think this lives up to the title of the thread.

I have family members who are there right now. Many have opened businesses. Not a single one of them referred to what they were doing as developing Ghana. Not one.

You trying too hard. If you walked into any city and there were 100 of these and came back 2 years later and they were 200 of em and built by the locals, does that not count as development?

And it seems you think it HAS to mutually exclusive, if it's generating income then it cannot be for development.

If Lockheed established a production center here to make money and they did ,does that automatically means it did not contribute towards development?

Yes I'm Ghanaian and yes it'll be highly beneficial to me, but your point is obtuse.
